New Email Reveals Andrew Was Indeed in New York at the Time of Virginia Giuffre's Claims
Trigger Warning: This article contains themes of child sexual abuse that some readers may find distressing.
The latest release of the Epstein files has once again cast Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor in an unfavorable light. Regardless, he has always denied any wrongdoing, especially when Virginia Giuffre first alleged that he had illicit relations with her when she was 17, supporting her claim with a photo of his hand around her. At the time, Mountbatten-Windsor discredited Giuffre, offering his much-debated Pizza Express alibi. However, a newly surfaced email reveals he was in New York, and not the UK, when she said the alleged encounter occurred.
The correspondence, released by the US Justice Department, showed that the former Prince was present in New York City when Giuffre claimed he abused her on March 10, 2001. Under the pseudonym, 'The Invincible Man,' Mountbatten-Windsor asked Ghislaine Maxwell if he could stay at Epstein's $75M Manhattan mansion in April 2001, also known as the '71st.' He then wrote, "I have a full day of meetings on the 10th in New York, and then I fly up to Boston for the night and most of the next day. I will be free when I get back to New York on the evening of the 11th and would dearly love a bed for the night somewhere prior to taking off to Nassau on the 12th, Thursday. I am going via Miami."
Furthermore, the email stated, "I will have a staff with me, but they will go back from Boston on the 11th when I come back to New York. Look forward to hearing from you. Masses of love, A." Nearly 10 days after he visited the mansion, another correspondence showed him and Maxwell discussing a new meet-up. According to The Sun, flight records showed that Guiffre traveled to New York via Atlantic City on the same day as Mountbatten-Windsor aboard the disgraced financier's Gulfstream jet.
Additionally, another email from Maxwell also pulled the curtain on Mountbatten-Windsor's lie of never knowing Guiffre and claiming that her photo was fake. Unearthed by the Daily Mail, she had originally drafted the statement to push back against the allegations of abuse, which she then sent to Epstein for approval. In it, she wrote, "In 2001, I was in London when (redacted) met a number of friends of mine, including Prince Andrew. A photograph was taken as I imagine she [Giuffre] wanted to show it to friends and family."
In his disastrous 2019 BBC Newsnight interview, Mountbatten-Windsor had stated that he could not have been with Guiffre, as he was at a Pizza Express party that day in the UK. He said, "I was with the children, and I'd taken Beatrice to a Pizza Express in Woking for a party at, I suppose, four or five in the afternoon." Instead, he suggested that Guiffre's photo was tampered with, possibly for financial gain. He said, "Nobody can prove whether or not that photograph has been doctored… because it is a photograph of a photograph of a photograph."
