Meghan Markle Urged to Cut Ties With Toxic Fans — or Kiss Goodbye to That Royal Reunion
Meghan Markle is being pushed to deal with toxic fans, with critics warning her silence could seriously hurt her image and everything she stands for
Meghan Markle never seems to escape the drama, and this time it is related to the very people upholding her career. The Duchess and Prince Harry are prepared to continue their pseudo-royal tour with the next stop in Australia, where she is all set to host a 'girls weekend away.’ With tickets priced at $2,699 per person, the handpicked guests seem to be extremely excited about this rare opportunity. However, among them is an online troll that could further tarnish Markle’s image.
According to Rebecca Russell for The Express, an online user who previously made cruel comments towards Princess Kate will also be joining Markle for the women-only weekend retreat. The person apparently called the Princess of Wales’ battle with cancer fake. Russell emphasized, “There is no suggestion that Meghan knows the people behind these vile accounts nor of the venom they’ve been spitting, which means there is all the more need for desperate action.”
Russell also goes on to make comparisons between her lifestyle brand, As Ever, and the current situation at hand. The brand specifically promotes kindness, compassion, and a “slow-living” lifestyle, but her fanbase seems to be aggressive, toxic, and targeting the Royal Family any chance they get. She writes, “While she is trying to sell her Gwyneth Paltrow-esque, carefully curated lifestyle products and pushing the importance of a compassionate and slow life… her devoted online fanbase is forming a militia against the very family that dragged Meghan up from Z-list obscurity.”
Markle’s brand, As Ever, which is closely related to her Netflix show With Love, Meghan, was backed by the streaming giant during its initial stages. However, the two parties ended their partnership in March 2026 after less than a year. According to reports, the streaming platform was left with $10 million in unsold inventory.
Russell also points out that it is necessary for Markle to take action against her ‘online militia’ soon, especially since the Sussexes are hoping for a family reunion. There are reports of Harry expecting an invite from King Charles to celebrate Easter with the family at the Sandringham estate. “Meghan really needs to act fast or risk slamming the final nails into the coffin of the royal rift once and for all,” she writes.
“Whether she is aware that one of the Royal Family’s worst online trolls holds a golden ticket to her cosy girls' weekend is irrelevant. She knows it now, and she needs to act,” the royal expert added. The author argues that Markle, who has long spoken about her feminist values, risks undermining that stance by remaining silent while her supporters target another woman with abuse. She suggests that failing to act in such a situation amounts to a contradiction of those principles and ultimately leaves a lasting stain on her reputation.
As for the three-day event in Australia, it will be taking place in April during the couple’s visit to Down Under, and it is described as “a girls' weekend like no other.” Markle is scheduled to speak at a gala dinner, with VIP ticket holders granted front-row seats. Moreover, attendees also have an opportunity for a group photo with the Duchess.
