Meghan Markle Set to Return to Acting in Major New Role Amid UK Return
BREAKING: Reports suggests that The Duchess of Sussex is understood to have accepted a new part in a UK production
Meghan Markle is set to make a sensational return to her acting roots.
The Duchess of Sussex is said to have landed a major new part in a new UK production, and it's said to be one of the main reasons behind her sensational return to the country. Before marrying Prince Harry in 2018, Meghan, 45, was best known for her role in the hit legal drama suits. After filming over 100 episodes as paralegal Rachel Zane, the actress announced her retirement from the art form as she embarked on a new life within the Royal Family.
Now Entertainment sources have told Bronte Coy from News.com.au that the actress will be resurrecting her on-screen theatrical career as she has accepted the new role to be filmed as part of an upcoming UK project. When announcing her initial decision to step away from acting before marrying Harry, she explained: “I don’t see it as giving anything up, I just see it as a change. It’s a new challenge." Now it seems the former Tig blogger is making an apparent dramatic U-turn.
This comes just a day after sources close to The Duke and Duchess of Sussex confirmed that the pair are set to make a return to the UK, six years after stepping back as working members of the Royal Family. It was revealed the duo have already enrolled their children, Archie, seven, and Lilibet, five, into local schools for a September start date.
Sources previously told the Royal Observer that Harry and Meghan will continue to embark on commercial activities as well as their charitable endeavours. They will not be returning as full-time working members of the Royal Family and it's believed they will reside in a non-royal residence outside of London.
Bronte Coy commented exclusively to me: "What they want to do, their style of modelling moving forward, is to do the commercial things so that that then funds the other side, so obviously this is not going to be a burden on taxpayers." Bronte added: "People close to Harry said that he was very keen to continue this style of tour. Now that obviously was going to encompass the UK."
This follows the news that Prince Harry reunited with his father, the King and Queen Camilla at a private tea at Highgrove, Gloucestershire last month. He was joined by Meghan and his two children as they spent part of their European summer holiday in Harry's home county. The Sussex family also stayed a number of days at Althorp, the childhood estate of Harry's late mother, Princess Diana.
The Royal Observer has approached representatives for Meghan, Duchess of Sussex for comment.
