Meghan Feeling ‘Satisfied’ as Victoria Beckham’s Alleged ‘Pattern of Control’ Comes to Light: Expert
Years after her friendship with Victoria Beckham reportedly fell apart, fresh drama surrounding the Beckham family has reopened old suspicions, and insiders say, Meghan Markle is calmly watching it unfold, enjoying 'a delicious sense of vindication.' Brooklyn Beckham’s recent, emotionally charged remarks about family control, media narratives, and the comments have allegedly struck a familiar chord with the Duchess of Sussex.
For those unversed, the Beckhams have been close friends of the royal family, regularly attending major royal events and maintaining warm ties with the institution. That, however, stood in contrast to the increasingly strained relationship between Victoria and Markle, which reportedly unravelled not long after the latter married Prince Harry. The rift was further complicated by where the Beckhams chose to stand as tensions between the Sussexes and the royal family deepened. Insiders have long suggested that David and Victoria aligned themselves firmly with the royals during the fallout. Not long after, David was knighted.
According to Rob Shuter’s Substack, those close to Markle say the situation has stirred a familiar feeling. Not shock, and glee, but deja vu. “Meghan is watching all of this unfold and can’t help but feel satisfied,” a source told Shuter. “Victoria’s pattern of control, manipulation, and constant undermining has finally been exposed.”
The fallout traces back to a long-rumored rift between Markle and Victoria, which also reportedly stemmed from the Sussexes’ belief that private details were being leaked to the press. At the time, those concerns were dismissed in some quarters as paranoia or oversensitivity. Now, insiders say Brooklyn’s words have reframed that narrative in a way Markle finds hard to ignore. “Brooklyn’s statement just confirms what Meghan already knew,” the source adds. “She removed herself from drama she didn’t need and is now watching as the consequences land squarely at Victoria’s feet.”
For Markle, the implosion of what was once a carefully made-up public image is personal. It is, according to those close to her, evidence that stepping away, early and decisively, was the right call.
Interestingly, the parallel has not gone unnoticed by royal commentators either. Senior Therapist Sally Baker, speaking to the Daily Mail, noted striking similarities between Brooklyn’s account and the long-held grievances voiced by Harry and Markle during their own fallout with the royal family. “His words echo the sentiments of Harry and Meghan when they believed the royal family was briefing against them,” she wrote. She went on to point out that Brooklyn’s phrasing carries particular weight. “The way he refers to his ‘parents and his team’ implies that although he believes he's been behaving extremely well, and under huge amounts of pressure, they have betrayed him by going to the press and briefing against him and his wife.”
Those accusations mirror the Sussexes’ long-standing claim that stories about them were being planted behind the scenes. Brooklyn himself has not held back and gone all out in calling his family out. In a statement that sent shockwaves through celebrity circles, he said, “I do not want to reconcile with my family. I'm not being controlled, I'm standing up for myself for the first time in my life. For my entire life, my parents have controlled narratives in the press about our family. The performative social media posts, family events, and inauthentic relationships have been a fixture of the life I was born into.”
There is also an added layer of irony. Last year, reports emerged that the Beckhams had grown closer to Prince William and Kate Middleton, with the couples said to have bonded over shared experiences and proximity, living just 90 minutes apart.
