Meghan and Harry Helping Beatrice and Eugenie Could Lead to Major Problems For Royal Family
After their parents' ties to Jeffrey Epstein were exposed, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie risked becoming royal pariahs, forced to bear the brunt of someone else's actions. While the York sisters have chosen discretion over mounting a public defense, that patience may wear thin if they consider Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's advice. According to a source, the Sussexes have offered to pull some strings to help Beatrice and Eugenie reclaim their narrative through memoirs or a bombshell interview, a move that could potentially blow the Firm apart.
Speaking to Closer magazine, the insider claimed that Beatrice and Eugenie were strongly supported by the Sussexes, who are surreptitiously attempting to push them to break their silence to the media. They said, "Meghan and Harry both feel like it's a great idea for Beatrice and Eugenie to tell their side of things. They can clarify exactly how close their parents were to him [Epstein] at the very least." They continued, "Meghan and Harry are even offering to introduce them to publishers and agents that can help them put together a deal; they could both earn a lot of money in the process."
However, the source stressed that the Sussexes' pressure could lead to Beatrice and Eugenie making a 'daunting' decision, one that could tear the royal family apart. They argued, "Ultimately, this decision rests with Beatrice and Eugenie alone, and they're at a crossroads, at least when it comes to the memoir. They do want to draw a line and move forward, but it's quite daunting." Noting their unfair association with their parents' scandals, they added, "If they're [Beatrice and Eugenie] going to steady the ship for their own families, it may require stepping into uncomfortable territory and finally telling their story in their own voice."
Ultimately, their decision over whether to speak out against their parents' scandalous ties could make or break the monarchy. The insider explained the sisters' alleged quandary, noting that they 'can't risk upsetting the Palace machine,' but also understand that transparency, if handled properly, could be a great strength. They spilled, "Anything that helps bring clarity and restore trust, provided it's done respectfully and not as a media circus, is a good thing for the monarchy…especially considering they want to modernize and in a modern-day UK, the citizens reward transparency."
As for their current relation with the Sussexes, even after stepping down as senior royals in 2020, Harry and Markle remained in close touch with Eugenie, who often met them in the US. That being said, the Duke of Sussex reportedly supports his sisters behind closed doors, refusing to blame them for their parents' misgivings. Royal expert Duncan Larcombe told The Mirror of their bond, "Harry has always been close to Beatrice and Eugenie. They didn't see a massive amount of each other growing up because they didn't live very close to each other, but they'd always get together for Christmas at Sandringham."
