King Charles Reportedly Fears Sarah Ferguson Could Pull a ‘Prince Harry’ With Tell-All Book
King Charles recently turned the screws on his disgraced younger brother over his past ties with Jeffrey Epstein. Prince Andrew formally gave up his titles, and as collateral damage, his ex-wife, Sarah Ferguson, had to also relinquish hers. Reportedly, Ferguson was not very happy about it, and sources described her ‘wailing and crying’ when she got the news.
Sources close to the former Duchess say she’s ‘absolutely bereft’ as the fallout from Andrew’s controversies deepens, the Daily Mail reported. The pressure on the King to distance the monarchy from his brother’s scandals has intensified, leaving Andrew and Ferguson on the brink of losing the Windsor mansion, which they’ve called home since 2008. “She’s contrite and embarrassed,” a royal insider told, “but also fears the scandal has fatally damaged her business interests, including several new fictional books that are due to come out. People don’t want to be associated with her anymore.”
And that, reportedly, is what’s keeping Charles up at night. The monarch, already navigating enough family turbulence, is said to be anxious about Ferguson possibly taking a leaf out of Prince Harry’s playbook and penning a tell-all of her own. “The King is a kind man,” a source explained, “but his patience has been pushed to the limit. The last thing he wants is another Spare. For now, both Andrew and Ferguson appear reluctant to vacate Royal Lodge without a compromise. The duo, who once cheerfully described themselves as 'the happiest divorced couple,' have reportedly agreed to move only if they’re each offered new homes.
The couple were offered Frogmore Cottage, once occupied by Harry and Meghan Markle, but Andrew apparently found it to be a 'step down' from the grandeur of their current 30-room estate. Ferguson, for her part, has her eyes on Adelaide Cottage, less than a mile away. “Frogmore is too small for both,” a friend said, “and Adelaide Cottage is around the corner, so they’ll see each other whenever they want.”
However, Adelaide Cottage is currently home to the Prince and Princess of Wales, who are expected to vacate in November, leaving open the question of whether Fergie will actually get her wish. Palace insiders suggest 'advanced talks' are already underway to ease Andrew out of Royal Lodge, despite his lease running until 2078. With the King tightening the purse strings and Andrew stripped of official duties, the once-favored son finds himself cornered. And for Charles, the stakes are as reputational as they are personal. Having already watched one family member take that route, he’s obviously desperate to avoid a sequel. As an insider put it, “Her future is hanging in the balance.”
At the same time, it was also reported that the King's brother had assured him that he would not go the Harry way. As per The Sun, insiders had earlier revealed, Andrew has explicitly promised the King he won’t follow suit. A source revealed, “Andrew won’t write a book like Spare. He has promised the King.”
