King Charles Holds an 'Explosive Dossier' on Andrew as 'Insurance' He Won't Go Rogue: Source
It seems King Charles needed an 'insurance policy' to keep his disgraced brother in check before he signed off on stripping Andrew Mountbatten Windsor of his titles and home. It took a decade-long compilation of a 'highly explosive' dossier by Palace aides on the former Duke and Sarah Ferguson's many controversial activities to ensure the couple wouldn't go rogue after their fall from grace.
The existence of the file, said to span around 30 years, is believed to include detailed records gathered from aides, security officers, and embassy staff abroad, and it is reportedly kept under lock and key in the Palace, to keep Mountbatten Windsor and Fergie in line should they ever 'try their luck,' the Daily Mail reported.
According to sources, the King views this not as vengeance but as protection. For all his reluctance to publicly exile his brother, Charles probably understood the danger of loose ends. Mountbatten Windsor's scandal-ridden past — from his friendship with Jeffrey Epstein to the legal settlements that followed — remains a live wire that could still shock the monarchy.
The dossier is said to have expanded particularly during times when Mountbatten Windsor and Fergie were courting publicity or attempting comebacks. In the wake of the recent scandal, no one reportedly called for the Yorks' banishment more than Prince William. “Prince William, in particular, has been smouldering on the sidelines ever since the release earlier this month of a pompous, self-aggrandizing statement by Mountbatten Windsor in which he used the royal ‘we’ to conclude he would ‘put my duty to my family and country first’ and ‘no longer use the honors which have been conferred on me,’” a royal insider spilled.
The statement reportedly was the final straw for the Prince of Wales. “He was fuming that the King had previously fudged dealing with Mountbatten Windsor and allowed him to make an earlier statement, making him seem very honorable,” the source explained. William's patience reportedly snapped after reading the draft of a forthcoming book by Virginia Giuffre, which revived scrutiny of Mountbatten Windsor’s ties to Epstein.
As per reports, in September, during a private meeting of the monarch and the heir apparent, they agreed to wait for the book’s publication before taking any formal action. But that plan shifted when the Palace obtained advance copies and learned that another tranche of Epstein documents, some implicating Mountbatten Windsor, could soon surface in the US. Reportedly, even Queen Camilla, a long-time campaigner against sexual abuse and domestic violence, read parts of the manuscript and pressed for faster action.
It must be noted that insiders suggest that Mountbatten Windsor is unlikely to turn against the institution, not least because his daughters, Beatrice and Eugenie, remain part of it. The greater concern, however, may be Fergie. Known for her unfiltered candor and history of tell-all interviews, she’s seen as the more unpredictable of the two. “To see it all taken away so swiftly and brutally has really set her on the edge,” a Palace insider spilled. “She’s rocked by how quickly their fates have been sealed.”
