At a time when King Charles could use calm within his family, especially amid his estrangement with Prince Harry and his own cancer treatment, Prince Andrew has put the monarchy in peril again. A new book on the Duke's life has rattled royal insiders, and experts fear it could ignite a media storm the monarchy can ill afford. The new book is his accuser, Virginia Giuffre's posthumous memoir, which gives a detailed insight into her encounters with Andrew at Jeffrey Epstein's property, when she was allegedly 17.

The book, Nobody’s Girl, serialized by The Guardian, builds on a previously unpublished book, The Billionaire's Playboy Club, which she wrote some years ago. It was included in court filings during past lawsuits against Epstein and his assistant Ghislaine Maxwell.

Nick Ferrai, speaking on This Morning, admitted that some of the claims in the book are ‘highly inappropriate’ to be repeated. “What actually happened between the two is only known to two people,” he said, adding wryly, “and one of them sadly is now dead — so it’s really known to only one person.” He instead steered the conversation toward the monarch, warning that the fallout from the upcoming release could pile fresh pressure on Charles, who is “already battling a fairly serious health condition.” The book, set to hit shelves next week, “will plunge the Crown into crisis once again,” he cautioned.

The timing couldn't be worse. The King, who has been stepping back from some of his public duties at the advice of doctors, is also contending with strained family relations. “He’s got the issues with his younger son, Prince Harry,” Ferrari said. “We all wish for a successful conclusion, but there does seem to be a war of words.” Ferrari urged, “Spare a thought for this man. He’s tuned into public opinion.” And that’s precisely what makes this latest scandal sting. At a time when Charles should be focusing on his recovery and the future of his reign, the upcoming book, from one of Andrew's alleged victims, risks overshadowing his legacy as King.

Andrew Lownie, the author of the bombshell biography of the Yorks, also warned that the Palace should be taking the new book very seriously. Speaking to Newsweek, he said, "This is more pressure on Andrew, it's more evidence, and so I think most people don't know about The Billionaires Playboy Club, so they feel this is new." It's more pressure, and clearly, the press is moving in on Andrew in a big way. It seems to me the Palace needs to take it seriously. They're going through the motions, but I don't see any concrete action being taken."

A very surprised Lownie further said, "Signing himself Knight of the Garter is incredibly pompous, but also, what is he doing being a Knight of the Garter? That's an easy enough thing to remove."
