Insider Reveals Prince Harry 'Wants To Back Meghan Markle' — But There's One Major Problem
Before her fairytale union with Prince Harry, Meghan Markle was best known for playing Rachel Zane on Suits. After marrying the Duke of Sussex, she paused her acting career, ready for her 'next chapter,' shaped by love and royal traditions. But five years after their royal exit, the Duchess is reportedly done with merely fronting her cooking show and lifestyle brand. A source claims her return to Hollywood, playing herself in Close Personal Friends, has left Harry uneasy, adding fresh strain to their marriage.
Markle is reportedly looking forward to playing herself on the Amazon–MGM Studios comedy, joined by A-listers. Weighing in on her return to acting, the source told OK! magazine, "Harry wants to back Meghan, but the speed of her ambitions has really thrown him." Another echoed, "He never thought their California life would turn out this way, with Meghan charging into the spotlight while he concentrates on his charitable work." Those close to the Sussexes also alleged that the Prince's discomfort stemmed less from his wife's on-set cameo and more from the surprise shift away from their once quieter and low-key life in Montecito.
The comeback, as insiders claimed, was hard-hitting for the Duke as he had allegedly envisioned a life focused on charity work, privacy, and raising their children, removed from the scrutiny they endured in the UK. But Markle's re-entry into Hollywood is reportedly intended to stabilize the couple's finances. A production insider spilled, "The role might be minor, but it gives her something to build on. Meghan realizes the big paychecks aren't a sure thing now, so she's viewing this as a fresh start." Another added, "She views it as a lifeline – a chance to take back control of her story in Hollywood, and she doesn't care what it does to Harry or their marriage."
Harry, meanwhile, is said to be straying from Markle's wishes and actively pursuing a reconciliation with his family. His September reunion with King Charles was hailed as a success, marking a positive step toward mending a once-shattered relationship. A close pal of the couple said, "Harry still wants some kind of reconnection with his family, but Meghan believes that part of their lives is over. She wants him to focus on what's ahead and commit to the life they've created in showbiz-land." These alleged conflicting visions about how to fashion their lives have reportedly strained their marriage and done little to quell ongoing divorce rumors.
As Markle returns to her Hollywood roots after eight years, photos of her on the Close Personal Friends set went viral. Weighing in on the same, royal columnist Sarah Vine wrote in the Daily Mail that Markle's renewed fame might stir complicated emotions for Harry. "Will it rankle to see his wife soaring to new heights of fame (and no doubt fortune) while he remains rather constrained in his options?" Vine pondered, adding that busy Hollywood schedules and publicity would be challenging to navigate.
