Expert Reveals Why Andrew Is Being Forced Into His ‘Final Exile’ Before the Easter Holiday
Andrew’s relocation to Marsh Farm is being fast-tracked for a surprisingly practical reason.
The options are running out for Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor — the man once synonymous with royal privilege. After being ousted from his longtime residence, Royal Lodge, the former Duke had been operating out of Wood Farm Cottage — a modest retreat on the Sandringham Estate that once served as his father, Prince Philip’s, retirement home. But if new reports are to be believed, then his stay in the five-bedroom property is coming to an end, signaling the start of what royal experts are calling a permanent, ‘final exile.’ For the disgraced royal, allegedly, the deadline to pack up and leave is before the upcoming Easter holiday.
The pressure on Mountbatten-Windsor is increasing, not because his new home is ready, but because the Royal Family simply wants their property back. Speaking on HELLO! Magazine’s A Right Royal Podcast, The Sun’s royal editor Matt Wilkinson, noted that the family sees Wood Farm as their favorite retreat for senior royals, making the former Duke’s presence a logistical nightmare that the Palace is no longer willing to accommodate. “The Royal Family use Wood Farm a lot and the Easter holidays are coming up,” he noted, stating, “So there may be wider extended members of the family that would want to pop up for a holiday, a free holiday, basically, and want to use Wood Farm.”
The ‘final exile’ of the former Prince is taking shape at Marsh Farm, a nearby property currently going through intensive renovations to make it more habitable for Mountbatten-Windsor. The urgency of the move is quite visible on the grounds, where contractors have been working at a feverish pace to meet the deadline. As Wilkinson highlighted, “So Andrew's got to get into Marsh Farm next door pretty sharpish. They've put the gates up, these big security gates outside. They've been working around the clock for the last couple of weeks.”
The move-in process also appears to be in its final stages, with the arrival of the former Duke’s personal belongings — while inside, the house has been modernized with new carpets and high-end kitchen appliances. “It looks like the kitchen has been completely done," Wilkinson noted. “And then we had the removal vans, which [contain] artwork that's been in storage, turn up this week to move into Marsh Farm.” While the official timeline suggests a move by the first weekend in April, Wilkinson shared on the podcast that the pressure from the Palaxe might result in an even earlier departure. Apparently, the main goal is to prevent Mountbatten-Windsor from becoming too settled in a property intended for the rest of the family.
“We were told that we were to expect Andrew to be into his new final exile by Easter…which is the first weekend in April [2026],” the royal editor shared, adding, “But I have a sneaking suspicion he could be in even before that, because they want Wood Farm back. You know, the longer he's there, the more comfy he gets.” As the holiday approaches, it seems the former Prince is facing one final bit of upheaval before settling into a permanent life away from the royal spotlight.
