Expert Reveals the Truth About Andrew & Sarah’s Post-Divorce Friendship: 'They Played the Press'
Royal author Andrew Lownie has lifted the lid on Andrew and Fergie's seemingly fake façade of being the 'happiest divorced couple.'
Since the dawn of time, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor and Sarah Ferguson have led people to believe they were the 'happiest divorced couple.' Many have wondered how the pair, separated since 1992, continued to live under one roof and toot each other's horns. Interestingly, royal author Andrew Lownie claims to have the answer. He suggests the former Duke and Duchess of York merely presented a united front to propel Ferguson's business career but regularly quarreled behind the doors of Royal Lodge.
On his Substack, Lownie lifted the lid on Andrew and Ferguson's supposed plans to con the British public by presenting a cordial front. Instead, he alleged that "they were often fighting. This picture of domestic harmony that they [Andrew and Ferguson] present is a farce, and I think, to be honest, it's continued to be a farce." He continued, "It was the way of carrying favor with the Queen and the royal family because they were grateful to her [Ferguson] that she hadn't abandoned Andrew when everyone else had. But she was there very cynically because her connection with the royal family helped her business career."
To add insult to injury, the royal expert revealed that Ferguson's intentions had always been selfish and that both parties had multiple relations with other people. He argued, "I just know that they [Andrew and Ferguson] played the press because each time they did this and said they might get back together, the public swooned and said how wonderful, and the polls went up. When secretly they were having swoons of affairs with other people." Just days after Mountbatten-Windsor and Ferguson were stripped of their royal titles, the former duchess moved out of Royal Lodge, and her whereabouts have remained largely unknown ever since.
Shortly after their individual scandals in relation to Jeffrey Epstein became public last October, sources claimed that Mountbatten-Windsor 'demanded' that his ex-wife be kept away from him. An insider told The Sun, "Andrew and Sarah are leading separate lives – at different ends and on different wings. Sarah, in particular, is panicking about what comes next, and she is not in a good place." They further stressed, "She fears being caught in the crosshairs and is worried about herself and her and Andrew's daughters, Beatrice and Eugenie."
Unsurprisingly, Lownie has alleged in the past that both Mountbatten-Windsor and Ferguson were serial cheaters, despite gushing about each other during their marriage and after their divorce. In his scathing biography, Entitled: The Rise and Fall of the House of York, he quoted a former driver who stressed that the former prince reportedly had indecent relations with over 12 women before his and Ferguson's first wedding anniversary. Moreover, the driver believed that Mountbatten-Windsor had affairs with more than 1,000 women in his lifetime. A model, also quoted, recalled, "He [Andrew] told me he had an open marriage arrangement with his wife. I felt like he used me for a few days so he could live his wildest fantasies."
