Charles Warned Against Offering ‘Helping Hand’ to 2 Royals Over Fears It Could Send 'The Wrong Message'

A royal expert warned King Charles against a possible decision to involve two family members in Trooping the Color that may create problems.

Royal watchers wait an entire year to see the iconic balcony lineup during the monarch’s official birthday celebration, i.e., Trooping the Color. Alongside the sovereign, working senior royals also make an appearance on the balcony to wave at the public and watch the military display. This year was no different. However, King Charles was advised by a royal expert against inviting two family members to avoid sending 'the wrong message,' and from the looks of it, the monarch listened.

Royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams, while speaking to GB News, argued that Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie’s presence on the balcony could cause problems for Charles, given it will re-ignite debate about their father, Prince Andrew’s history. Andrew stepped down as a working royal after facing massive backlash over his alleged connection with Jeffrey Epstein. The expert explained, “It would bring into focus the fact that Andrew does not appear, and anything to do with him is still too toxic... Unfortunately for Yorks, there is a problem, a huge problem, and it would send a message that would not be appropriate at the moment.”

Fitzwilliams noted the importance of the balcony line-up, stressing that it is a symbol of unity among the royal family. He claimed that the appearance of Beatrice and Eugenie could ‘bring the debate back’ to where Andrew stands within the family. The York sisters were in fact absent from the balcony. Charles, who celebrated his third birthday as the sovereign, appeared instead alongside Queen Camilla, Prince William, Kate Middleton, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, Prince Louis, Princess Anne, the Duke of Kent, Edward, Vice Admiral Sir Tim Laurence, Prince Edward, Duchess Sophie, and the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester, Richard and Birgitte.

According to Marie Claire, an insider has, however, revealed that although absent from the mega event, the York sisters have grown close to their cousin, William. The source shared, “Princess Eugenie has formed an alliance with Prince William over their shared passion amid shifting dynamics within the Royal Family... [Their] shared environmental beliefs have brought the cousins closer together at a time when Eugenie is understood to have grown distant from Prince Harry.”

Another source told the Daily Mail that the two princesses are assets to the royal family. The insider explained, “[King Charles] is looking to bring in some fresh blood, and he's looking to Beatrice and Eugenie... He thinks that they've grown into very sensible, lovely women who he thinks could be a real asset.” The insider believes that the two princesses have stepped up, especially as Middleton and the King faced health battles. They opined, “I think Beatrice and Eugenie are adding support where they can. They've always been clear they're non-royal, but they're always there to help fulfill any duties required."
