Beatrice & Eugenie Keep Titles but Andrew’s Lost Honors Will Have a 'Devastating Effect'

After new revelations about Andrew Mountbatten Windsor's past ties to Jeffrey Epstein surfaced, Buckingham Palace announced on October 30 that he will relinquish all his remaining royal titles. As the former Prince faced the fallout of his actions, royal watchers turned their attention to Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie and how they were coping with it all. Reflecting on their future, royal expert Ailsa Anderson cautioned that their father's actions would have 'devastating effects' on the sisters despite their innocence.
In the wake of Mountbatten Windsor's title announcement, many speculated whether the York sisters might also lose their royal honors. Anderson, former press secretary to the late Queen Elizabeth, told PEOPLE that this wouldn't be the case. He, however, warned, "Even though they keep their titles, the ripple effect will have consequences for the rest of their lives." Anderson added that Beatrice, Eugenie, Mountbatten Windsor, and Sarah Ferguson were always a 'close-knit family,' suggesting their bond will help them endure the difficult times ahead.
As per reports, both the King and Prince William believe Beatrice and Eugenie should stand tall amid their parents' scandals. Royal photographer Arthur Edwards also echoed the same. As per The Sun, he wrote, "While their parents may have been brought down by scandal, Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie can hold their heads high. The girls are wonderful assets to the royal family, and neither of them has ever put a foot wrong." The photographer argued that it would be unfair to judge the sisters for their parents' past actions. He claimed that while Mountbatten Windsor long struggled with arrogance, "there’s not a sniff of pomposity about" his daughters.
Considering Beatrice and Eugenie's tough position, having been unfairly associated with their parents' scandals, Charles and William have reportedly taken pity on the sisters. Royal expert Phil Dampier wrote for Woman's Day, "The King and William have always been fond of Bea and Eugenie, and their husbands, and regard them as innocent victims." He claimed, as per sources, they are expected to join the royals for Christmas in Sandringham.
Beatrice and Eugenie get to keep their honors, given that they are male-line grandchildren of the late Queen Elizabeth. While they don't have to face the humiliation of losing their titles, the sisters are allegedly torn between love for their parents and the poor choices they made. Dampier explained, "They are absolutely distraught and torn between their natural love for their parents and the obvious truth that Andrew and Sarah have been exposed for what they are. The late Queen always said that Sarah was a good mother, and the girls are testament to that."
