Andrew Faces More Humiliation As He's Told to Leave ‘No Trace’ of His Existence at Old Home
According to an insider, movers have been instructed to remove all traces of Andrew from Royal Lodge, to let him atone for his actions.
Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor's infamous fall from grace remains a cautionary tale for the royal storybooks. After his scandalous ties to Jeffrey Epstein were exposed, King Charles ordered him to vacate Royal Lodge and stripped him of his titles last November. Now, a source claims that movers have been instructed to remove all traces of Mountbatten-Windsor and his former aides from the residence, underscoring how the once-pampered ex-prince has been left to bite the dust and atone for his actions.
Speaking to The Mirror, the insider revealed that former staffers at Royal Lodge have been setting fire to some belongings. They said, "Andrew was told everything has to be out and absolutely nothing was to be left behind. He hasn't been back to collect anything, leaving staff to Everything has to be out by the weekend, and we've been told no trace of the former occupants or staff should remain." However, royal sources insisted that the furniture and belongings being burned belonged to the former prince's aides, not Mountbatten-Windsor. The once bustling Royal Lodge has since been deserted, with security no longer seen guarding the residence.
Additionally, last week, movers were photographed loading items, including a mattress, into two vans outside one of Mountbatten-Windsor's former valets' homes. A source stressed, "The estate is like a ghost town as so many staff have left, and it's now pretty much empty. Who knows when it will be done up, as lots of building work is needed to bring it up to its former glory, like when the Queen Mother was in residence." These revelations come amid reports that the former Duke of York has been reluctant to live frugally, clinging to his past royal life by ordering expensive items for his new home.
Commenting on the same, royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams told The iPaper the Palace will be keen to project an image of Mountbatten-Windsor as someone who "doesn't have many staff, and the farmhouse isn't too luxurious, and he isn't too pampered." Whether the ex-prince is capable of maintaining a simple lifestyle has always been a hot topic of debate. He added, "It would be wise if there was an impression of as much frugality as possible. But you're dealing with someone who is entitled."
Given that Mountbatten-Windsor was once a royal, he has allegedly been finding it difficult to tone down his standards. As per multiple reports, carpet fitters, flooring specialists, CCTV installation, a new security fence, Sky TV, and a transport firm specializing in the movement of fine art have been sourced for Marsh Farm. Certainly, the optics are not in the former Duke's favor. An ex-royal aide told The i Paper, "There is acute awareness that public patience and sympathy with Andrew will be minimal and any sign that he is living in the lap of luxury will not play well."
