Ranked: 6 Richest Royals and Their Reported Wealth and Assets
Rich, Richer, Richest
The Royal Family's riches are no secret to anyone, but who is the richest of them all? Some wealth comes from personal inheritances and property, while the rest is generated through the Duchies that support the monarch and heir to the throne. Then there is the Sovereign Grant, which pays for the official work of the monarchy but is not the same thing as a royal's personal salary. So, working out exactly how much each royal is worth is not as simple as looking at a bank balance. However, the 2026 financial disclosures offered a rare glimpse into the private finances of King Charles and Prince William. The figures have also reignited interest in just how much the senior members of the family are actually worth. Let's take a look!
Princess Kate
Princess Kate is one of the richest members of the royal family, with an estimated net worth of around $50 million. As per Celebrity Net Worth and The List, unlike William, Kate did not inherit the Duchy of Cornwall when she married into the royal family, which is why much of her reported personal wealth is linked to the Middleton family's successful business interests and her own independent income. However, she also has access to the financial resources that come with being married to the heir to the throne. Meanwhile, the Sovereign Grant funds official royal work and the costs associated with engagements, staff, and more, rather than functioning as a conventional salary.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle
Next in line are the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, who have an estimated combined net worth of $60 million. It is worth stressing that this is a combined figure for the couple. The fortune consists of Harry's inheritance from his late mother, Princess Diana, and $10.5 million from a trust associated with the late Queen Mother, which he received when he turned 40. The Prince has also accumulated wealth from his military earnings and revenue from Spare. Additionally, Markle contributes with her wealth through her acting career, sponsorships, and her former lifestyle website, The Tig. She even has her lifestyle brand As Ever, along with her and Harry's contract with Netflix as executive producers. The couple is also proud owners of their $14.65 million California mansion and $8 million holiday home in Portugal.
Princess Anne
Princess Anne has spent more than five decades carrying out royal duties, but her reported fortune does not come primarily from royal funding. As per Celebrity Net Worth, Anne's wealth is around $70 million, and one of her biggest personal assets is Gatcombe Park, the Gloucestershire estate that her mother, Queen Elizabeth II, purchased for her in 1976. The property alone is estimated to be worth somewhere between $25 million and $35 million on the open market. Other than that, the Princess received around $22 million in official payments over 51 years, as per a report from The Guardian.
King Charles
Second on the list is the King, who, as per the Sunday Times Rich List, is said to have an estimated wealth of $844 million. The figure includes his personal assets and investments, rather than Crown assets such as Buckingham Palace. Charles also receives income from the Duchy of Lancaster, whose latest accounts showed a net asset value of around $916 million and an adjusted surplus of approximately $33.6 million for 2025-26. Earlier this year, the King revealed that he paid £12.9 million, or roughly $17 million, in income and capital gains tax during 2024-25. His total tax bill since becoming King has now passed $40 million, based on the Palace's published figures. The Royal Household also revealed that the Sovereign Grant rose to about $175 million for 2025-26, while the grant for 2026-27 was set at roughly $183 million. Additionally, the King also owns Balmoral Castle in Scotland and Sandringham House in England.
Prince William
Ranked first on the chart is William with an estimated $1.58 billion net worth, largely because of the enormous value associated with the Duchy of Cornwall. However, the reported fortune has changed dramatically since he became the Prince of Wales and inherited the Duchy of Cornwall from his father in 2022. For the 2025-26 financial year, the Duchy reported a $28.5 million distributable surplus. As per the June 2026 financial disclosures, William paid approximately $10.3 million in income and capital gains tax for 2024-25, as quoted by The Independent. He has paid more than $26 million in tax since becoming Prince of Wales, according to Kensington Palace, as reported at the time. William also has Anmer Hall to his name, which was a gift to him and Kate by the late Queen. Other than that, he owns Tamarisk House, which is his holiday home in the Isles of Scilly.
