5 Photos of Harriet Sperling That Prove She's Settling Into the Royal Family Perfectly
Harriet's Ascot Seal Of Approval
There are two ways to the royals' hearts - dogs and horses. And the newest royal bride, Harriet Phillips, has seemingly aced her journey on the latter at least. She marked her first royal appearance with Peter Phillips at Royal Ascot on Tuesday, after their dreamy wedding at All Saints Church a few weeks back. While Harriet has instantly become a crowd favorite, her recent appearance at the racecourse proved that she was loved even within the royal quarters.
Princess Royal's New Ally
Before Royal Ascot even properly opened, Harriet's bond with the royal family was crystal clear from her arrival. The new royal bride rolled into the race course in a carriage alongside her mother-in-law, Princess Anne. The duo was all smiles as they took in the atmosphere and seemed at ease with each other. Harriet's decision to mark her first royal appearance after her wedding at Royal Ascot has certainly hit the right chord with the Princess Royal, who is an Olympian and competed in the equestrian event during the 1976 Montreal Games.
Matching In Blue
Harriet and Peter Philips marked their first royal appearance after their wedding at Royal Ascot. Their chemistry stole the show as the latter matched his wife's baby-blue dress with a similar colored shirt. The pair was later seen mingling and chatting with guests at the racecourse. Harriet, as expected, carried herself with the elegance and poise of an experienced royal.
Twinning With Camilla
Harriet and Queen Camilla looked like fashionable twins in baby blue dresses and similar hats. In the past few years, the Queen Consort has reportedly relaxed the protocol over royals wearing blue, her favorite colour, at the same time as her. Regardless, it was certainly a daring choice on Harriet's part to choose a shade similar to Camilla's for her first royal appearance. But it seems the twinning moment is yet another proof that the new royal bride has been embraced by the family.
A Toast for Love
Harriet and Peter appeared very much in their honeymoon phase as they were spotted watching the races together in the gallery. The pair began their day with a champagne toast, wherein Peter clearly couldn't take his eyes off his wife. Harriet, in return, flashed him an adorable smile.
Harriet Fits Right In
Although Harriet made moments throughout Royal Ascot's opening day, one particular instance proved that she was indeed a perfect addition to the royal family. She and Peter were caught cheering passionately during the races, a trait that is common amongst many royals. Over the years, even the most senior royals, including the late Queen Elizabeth and Queen Camilla, have shed their usual composure in the stands due to the thrill of horse racing. Now, Harriet is seemingly following their footsteps.
