Prince William and Kate Middleton have often strayed away from royal traditions in how they are raising their kids, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis. Unlike William’s childhood, the couple is keeping their children away from the spotlight while also preparing them for their future roles. This has been the primary focus for the Waleses in deciding on a future school for the kids. George is likely to follow in his father and uncle Prince Harry’s footsteps in choosing Eton. However, an insider claims Middleton is looking to break the ‘tradition.’

While William went to Eton College, a well-known boarding school for boys, Middleton attended Marlborough College with her siblings. Typically, royal children are either homeschooled or sent to boarding school for well-rounded but tough grooming. But Middleton reportedly isn't really sure if that is the path for her children. Royal expert Jennie Bond told The Mirror that the Waleses have undertaken “a great deal of research” into finding the best school for their eldest. The expert added that after going through a year full of ups and downs, especially Middleton’s cancer treatment, the couple is considering keeping George closer. She said, “I think it's quite likely that, after the year they have had, and how unsettling it must have been for George and the other children, no matter how hard their parents tried to lessen the trauma of cancer, that they would all feel happier and more secure if they could remain as a tight family unit.”

The expert believes that breaking the tradition and sending their children to day schools would be ‘brilliant.’ She said, “Personally, I think it would be brilliant if they completely broke with tradition and, indeed, their own school background and sent all three children to a day school for the rest of their education. That really would signal that this royal couple intend to do things differently.”

As schooling will play a crucial role in their kids' lives, the Prince and Princess of Wales have already begun to educate George about his future duties. Recently, it was evident that William was passing his words of wisdom to his eldest during VE Day celebrations. As per The Mirror, when it comes to schooling, Middleton, according to royal expert Katie Nicholl, wishes to send George to a co-education school with his siblings, having had the same experience growing up. However, William may disagree with her decision as he has fond memories of Eton.

Bond suggests that it might be George’s call about which school he wishes to attend. She said, “Of course, it may be that George wants to board either full-time or as a weekly pupil, and I think it is his wish that will prevail. William and Catherine have a great deal to consider.” The expert argued that if all three of William and Middleton’s children opt for a day school, it might affect their royal duties. She said, “With their increasing royal responsibilities, can William and Catherine be on hand enough if all three opted for a day school?”
