Sarah Ferguson is rightly known as the 'Houdini' of the royal family; always one to turn adversity into an opportunity for reinvention. The former Duchess of York is reportedly planning to do the same this time around and rise from the Epstein fallout. After losing her titles and Royal Lodge, her home of 17 years, which she shared with her ex-husband, she reportedly is already orchestrating a comeback. Reports suggest that the 66-year-old is working with a ‘brand rescue team,’ hoping to salvage her reputation.

According to The Sun, Ferguson’s effort at rebuilding is no modest undertaking. Insiders claim that she is planning to take an ‘expensive route.’ Her team is said to be exploring several ways to portray her as a ‘leader in the female positivity world’ by focusing on her long-standing work as a mother, philanthropist, and writer. The aim, insiders claim, is to step out from her royal shadow and redefine what she stands for in her own right.

A Palace insider detailed how Ferguson has been resilient despite financial strain. “Sarah has always been a grafter and a hard worker and always finds ways of making money and getting out of a hole,” the source explained. “She has expensive tastes and massive outgoings, but always found a way to make ends meet. Calls from brands may go unanswered right now, but she is still Sarah Ferguson and still a big name.” Her next chapter depends on how she channels that resourcefulness.

The 66-year-old’s career hinges greatly on her personal independence and separating herself from her disgraced husband. PEOPLE earlier reported that she won't be moving to Sandringham with Andrew Mountbatten Windsor. "She is going to be moving out and into a separate home... She will continue to forge an independent life,” a source told the outlet. Her close friend Lizzie Cundy also confirmed on the Jeremy, Storm & Vanessa show that Fergie will 'forge her own path.' "She [Fergie] doesn't want to live with Andrew. Now she wants to draw the line and hopefully move on from this." This marks a notable change for Ferguson, who, despite Mountbatten Windsor’s many scandals, had so far always remained by his side.

But what prompted Ferguson to step away from her ex-husband? Royal commentator Helena Chard believes that it comes down to financial security, as always. “Sarah will not move in with Andrew. Despite always being the faithful ex-wife, she realizes it will do her no favors continuing her association with him,” Chard told Fox News. In light of Mountbatten Windsor's fall from grace, being reduced to a commoner, Chard argued that Ferguson has realized it was time for her “to stand on her own two feet.” For now, the former Duchess seems focused on rebuilding her name and reputation. Whether her grand makeover works or not, she appears determined to make a strong return.
