A royal milestone! The Royal Windsor Horse Show released a new photo of Queen Elizabeth in honor of her 96th birthday.
In the photo, the matriarch is seen posing in front of greenery, and she is with her two white horses.
"Ahead of The Queen’s 96th Birthday tomorrow, @royalwindsorhorseshow have released a new photograph of Her Majesty with two of her fell ponies, Bybeck Katie and Bybeck Nightingale. Taken last month in the grounds of Windsor Castle, the photo is the fourth in a series of photos released by the Royal Windsor Horse Show, following images that celebrated the Golden Jubilee, the Platinum Jubilee and Her Majesty’s 90th Birthday. First staged in 1943, The Queen has attended every single Royal Windsor Horse Show," the caption read via Instagram.
Of course, people loved seeing the Queen in good spirits. One person wrote, "Oh this is JUST lovely❤️," while another added, "A Very Happy Birthday Your Majesty👑🎂🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧."
A third person added, "the queen is so beautiful!!! 😍😍❤️❤️."
On April 21, The Royal Family's Instagram wrote a lovely note about the matriarch.
"🎂 Happy Birthday Your Majesty! Today as The Queen turns 96, we’re sharing this photograph taken when she was 2-years-old. Then Princess Elizabeth, she was the eldest daughter of The Duke and Duchess of York and was never expected to become Queen. Her life changed in 1936 when her uncle, King Edward VIII abdicated, her father became King George VI and the young Princess became the heir presumptive," the post read. "Following the sad death of her father in 1952, Princess Elizabeth became Queen Elizabeth II aged just 25, and this year is celebrating 70 years on the throne - a first in British history."
"🎶💂The Army marked The Queen’s birthday in spectacular style today with gun salutes and musical tributes across London," another video revealed.
Kate Middleton and Prince William also shared some photos of themselves with the Queen.
"Wishing Her Majesty The Queen a very happy 96th birthday today! An inspiration to so many across the UK, the Commonwealth and the world, it’s particularly special to be celebrating in this #PlatinumJubilee year," they said.
Prince Charles and Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall added, "Wishing Her Majesty The Queen a particularly special 96th birthday today, as we celebrate her Platinum Jubilee year. 🎊🎈."
