Royal Fans Spot Surprising Nod in Meghan's New Product: 'This Will Be Headlines in the UK'
Meghan Markle's lifestyle brand, As Ever, is kicking off the year on a high note. On January 13, the company's official social media teased the launch of new products. Among the items was an $18 bookmark, created in collaboration with Sbri, a UK-based female-owned workshop specializing in handcrafted keepsakes. The surprising nod to Prince Harry's roots didn't go unnoticed by royal watchers.

The limited-edition bookmark comes in black leather and features a gold inscription reading 'Fell Asleep Here,' written in Markle's signature calligraphy. The item, which quickly sold out in minutes, is made from "sustainably sourced leather" and described as a "keepsake designed for those who linger, pause, and return." According to the product description on the website, it is "Crafted from supple black leather and finished with gold lettering written in Meghan's handwriting, it rests neatly between pages to mark exactly where you left off." The brand's newsletter also mentioned their collaboration with Spri, which is described as "a small UK-based female-owned workshop specializing in handcrafted, made-to-order keepsakes."
As news of Markle's shoutout to Britain went viral on X (formerly Twitter), a netizen remarked, "Tomorrow this will be the headlines in the UK: Meghan collaborated with a UK company. They are going to lose their heads." In a similar vein, another beamed, "I couldn't love the UK connection more." Meanwhile, a fan gushed, "A UK collaborator?!? They are gonna lose their minds." As the comments poured in, a person pointedly said, "And they say 'UK hates her…'"
Since its launch, the Duchess has expanded the brand beyond its original offerings. Alongside fruit preserves, herbal teas, and edible flower sprinkles, the collection now features candles, wine, and some household items. On Tuesday, the website also unveiled a $64 A Moment To Unwind Set, which featured the bookmark, sage honey with honeycomb, and herbal peppermint tea. Her latest sellout comes after her brand was under fire when inventory details were exposed by a website glitch. Speaking to PEOPLE, a source revealed, "While it's normal for a business not to talk about sales data, I think it's fair to say that the glitch that led to this data being revealed points to a business that isn't just successful — it's flying, literally off the shelf."
With regards to growing her lifestyle brand, as per GB News, sources suggested that "2026 is going to be a big year" for the Duchess. But with appreciation, words of caution follow, as PR expert Renae Smith urged Markle to be careful for what she described as a 'reactive approach' as the brand evolves. She opined, "We can’t deny she has the ingredients for a long-lasting brand within her existing fanbase. But it’s got to stop feeling so reactive."
