Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's visit to Jordan was meant to promote global mental health and assist vulnerable communities. And indeed, they did just that. On February 25, they made an emotional visit to the Specialty Hospital in Amman, where they met injured Palestinian survivors. However, what was intended as a visit to honor victims of war took a sharp turn when royal watchers accused the couple of turning their tragedy into a PR gimmick. The issue? The presence of cameras in the room as Markle was seen comforting a burnt victim.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex met with children and other patients rescued from Gaza at the invitation of the World Health Organization. They grew visibly emotional and held back tears when they spoke to Maria, a 14-year-old burn victim who lost her family in the ongoing war. They also spoke to a 17-year-old who suffered injuries to his legs and needed urgent care. Markle, who was visibly shaken, told a young survivor she was "so glad you're getting the treatment that you need." Their visit spotlighted the country's urgent medical evacuations, making an important part of their two-day trip.

As poignant as their visit was, royal fans had a lot to say when their pictures were shared on X. A critic sneered, "Why are they there? For PR." Similarly, another questioned, "Is this a part of the Archewell PR package in exchange for a 350K donation? Who is paying for their private jet, staff travel, and luxury accommodation?" Meanwhile, a netizen remarked, "Who is paying for two unqualified people to have PR?" As the comments poured in, a person criticized, "And Meghan's strong humanitarianism for her father is non-existent..."

Regardless of varying opinions on their visit, the director of the World Health Organization, Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, warmly received the Sussexes on the steps of their office in Amman. He welcomed Markle with a formal kiss and hug and warmly embraced Harry. As reported by The Daily Mail, Buckingham Palace officials were informed of the trip in advance, which surprisingly comes just a few days after Prince William's diplomatic visit to Saudi Arabia. Their visit may also ruffle some feathers with the Prince and Princess of Wales, who have regularly visited the country.

And speaking of William and Kate Middleton, as per The Daily Express, fans have also accused Markle of copying the Princess of Wales while participating in a light-hearted football match. During a visit to a tour center the same day, Markle and Harry engaged in a friendly football competition, with the Duchess easily beating her husband. But that moment intensified her rivalry with her sister-in-law, who's an avid soccer fan. For her part, Middleton has been pictured enjoying the game quite a few times, ahead of the 2017 London Marathon Day and her 2019 visit to Northern Ireland.
