Royal Family Slammed for ‘Creepy’ Reaction to Video Mocking Meghan and Harry: ‘It’s Like They Have...’

On June 4, Meghan Markle shocked the world when she shared a video of herself twerking with Prince Harry in a hospital delivery room, while heavily pregnant with their daughter. She posted the lighthearted clip on Instagram as a tribute to Princess Lilibet’s fourth birthday. Just weeks later, on June 25, reality TV stars Sophie Habboo and Jamie Laing made a parody video, mocking Harry and Markle's Baby Mama Dance. The royal family’s cheeky response to the same, which threw major shade at Harry and Markle, left royal fans unimpressed and rushing to defend the Sussexes.

Laing and Habboo filmed the parody video on the Buckingham Palace Grand Staircase while attending an event for King Charles’ charity, The King’s Trust. The couple, who are expecting their first child, were seen twerking and dancing to the same track used by Markle. The video prompted a comment from the royal family’s official Instagram, which read, "We see you 👀😉." The King’s Trust also chimed in with a cheeky verdict, "All of our attendees are very well behaved 👀😂." Sussex fans quickly voiced their displeasure at the same, accusing the royals of embracing Habboo and Laing's antics while criticizing Harry and Markle. Meanwhile, others slammed the reality stars for breaching Palace protocol.

As reported by Tyla, a critic penned, "Where's the disrespectful outrage??... Oh no, that's ONLY for Harry and Meghan, of course." Another echoed, "So, based on the comments, you're all fine if these two do it, but Meghan isn't allowed..." A netizen slammed, "The official royal family account, which usually doesn't make comments on other people's posts, chose only this video to enthusiastically comment on. It's like they have nothing on their minds other than Meghan." As the comments poured in, one also read, "Family responds to these posts and ignores their own biracial grandchildren... but are totally fine with this."

Fans also dragged Laing and Habboo for violating Palace rules, which prohibit filming videos inside the premises. Commenting on the same, a netizen remarked, "So disrespectful to be filming in the palace where you are not supposed to film." Another agreed, "You are honoured by an invite to the palace and asked not to record… but this is just what you do." Meanwhile, a user slammed, "If they invite you and you disrespect their rules that speaks volumes about you."

Markle, while posting her dance video, had captioned the same, "Four years ago today, this also happened. Both of our children were a week past their due dates… so when spicy food, all that walking, and acupuncture didn’t work, there was only one thing left to do! 😂" As per People magazine, Prince Harry, meanwhile, in his memoir, Spare, had shared that there was "nothing but joy and love in that room" when the couple danced before Lilibet's birth. He also spilled that they had hogged on In-N-Out and fajitas before their daughter's birth.
