Royal Expert Thinks Harry Is ‘Petrified’ of Meghan But Also Afraid of Losing Her: 'He Has Been...'

Vickers and Coy also spoke in great detail about King Charles’ feelings towards Harry after his royal exit.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle stepped down as working royals in 2020 and have since settled in California. The couple, who continue to undertake independent ventures and make fewer public appearances together, have sparked divorce rumors in recent months. Chiming in on the same, royal expert Hugo Vickers opined that it cannot be the case as Harry is ‘petrified’ of losing his wife. He also added that Markle is unnecessarily ‘latching’ onto things in their marriage.

Vickers joined royal correspondent Bronte Coy on the most recent episode of The Sun’s Royal Exclusive Show, and said, “Prince Harry is petrified of her and petrified of losing her. He's been complicit in a lot of the things that have gone on, although I think he's been made to do many things.” In response, Coy argued, “There are only a small handful of royals and people that have the profile that he has, and you have to imagine that if that relationship did fall apart for whatever reason…where does that leave him?”

Vickers and Coy also spoke in great detail about King Charles’ feelings towards Harry after his royal exit. Coy acknowledged that the thought of Harry returning to the UK is 'probably scary for him.' Nevertheless, Vickers claimed Charles 'has left the door open' for Harry. Vickers explained, “But then there's this issue that Prince Harry seems to think the royal family should be apologizing to him, whereas it should be the other way around.” He added, “The King's got a lot of other things on his mind, but he's never responded to anything…We don't know whether anything's going on behind the scenes.”

While Harry is ‘petrified’ by both his wife and the prospect of losing her, Markle reportedly ‘fears she’s losing control’ over her husband. A royal source told OK! magazine that the Duchess is allegedly not a big fan of Harry trying to mend his relationship with his family. The source explained, “She knows deep down that Harry wants to fix the relationship, and the Kate news has made him more determined to try and do it. But she thinks Harry is being naïve and that he still can’t trust William. She’s terrified he’ll be made a fool of again.” The insider added that Markle ‘wont let her emotions rule her’ and that she's unable to forgive the royal family for the mistreatment she suffered at their hands.

While the divorce rumors are rife, an insider who worked for the couple told Page Six, “Meghan and Harry know that they are tied together, their value is in being a couple — even if they wanted to split, they couldn't…They are just two narcissists.” When asked about their ‘separation’, Harry bluntly refuted, “Apparently, we’ve divorced maybe 10-12 times. So it’s just like, what? It’s hard to keep up with, but that’s why you just sort of ignore it.”
