Long before her fairytale wedding to Prince Harry, Meghan Markle was best known for her role as Rachel Zane in the TV show, Suits. Although the Duchess of Sussex is slowly returning to her acting roots, she remains more focused on her business ventures and philanthropy. Even after quitting acting in late 2017, fans still reminisce about her iconic Suits days, often unearthing old videos. In that spirit, a resurfaced 2013 TV interview of her with Craig Ferguson has gone viral, showcasing her bubbly side, a stark contrast to her now mature and somber demeanor.

In 2013, Markle made an appearance on The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson to promote Suits, which she had been starring in for two years by then. At the time, she was newly single and in the process of divorcing her ex-husband, Trevor Engelson. In the unearthed clip, she was seen wearing a backless black mini dress, stunning the crowd with her cheeky personality. At one point, she told Ferguson, "I got all dolled up for you." She also spoke about her father, Thomas Markle, telling Craig he was 'a DP' - the acronym for 'director of photography.' Ferguson's confused reaction caused her to stop in the middle before realizing she had used a technical term. With a few giggles, she added, "I didn't mean to make it sound so industry."

Although her appearance was meant to promote her series, it had, at the time, garnered attention for the wrong reasons. Royal fans thought that Ferguson acted 'creepy' when he pivoted the conversation to Markle's body hair. He said, "What a strangely hairless body you have…You're quite the dolphin, aren't you? You're absolutely hair-free. Are you a competitive swimmer?" Determined to change the subject, the future Duchess awkwardly spoke about her early experience with the camera, of how she grew up on the set of the TV show Married... with Children, as her father was an employee there.

Regardless of whether her interview hit the mark, one cannot ignore that the Duchess has traded her playful child-like personality for maturity and composure over the years. After marrying Harry, she gave up acting and immersed herself in royal duties, maintaining stoicism at public events. Though she left that life behind in 2020, she has been outspoken about her ill-treatment there and her suffocation under strict royal traditions. Far from the bubbly single woman she once was, she now prefers to gush about her low-key family life with Harry and their children, and how much her independence means to her.

Additionally, Markle now speaks in a polished tone during interviews and public appearances, avoiding getting too touchy-feely with hosts. Rather than juggling multiple roles in the acting world, her focus is firmly on her family, her business ventures, and her various projects with Netflix. No longer an emerging actress, she often finds herself at the center of intense debate, political commentary, and royal discussion, attention that has largely overshadowed her former showbiz career.
