Queen Elizabeth’s Favorite Range Rover Is Up For Sale — and It Comes With a Custom Detail That’s So Her

Queen Elizabeth’s personal Range Rover is up for auction, and yes, you can have it if you've deep pockets. The 2006 L322 model, used by the late monarch between 2006-2008, comes with all the royal bells and whistles, plus a few bespoke touches designed specifically for Palace life. Finished in the classic Royal Household Tonga Green and paired with an Oxford Sand leather interior and extended walnut trim, the vehicle screams luxury.

As per Marie Claire, it’s the only supercharged L322 Her Majesty ever owned, powered by a 4.2-litre V8 engine. Special modifications were added by Land Rover’s Special Vehicle Operations division, including side steps, mud flaps, a dog guard for the Queen’s beloved corgis, a boot liner, rear grab handles to aid entry and exit, and upgraded internal wiring for royal security equipment. It even features a quirky bonnet ornament of a Labrador with a pheasant in its mouth, something that oddly fits the car’s royal countryside charm. The Queen, despite having hundreds of chauffeurs at her service, loved driving cars herself and would be regularly pictured in them, as per the BBC.

The vehicle, which clocked around 120,000 miles and was based at Windsor Castle, is expected to fetch between £50,000 and £70,000 when it goes under the hammer at Iconic Auctioneers’ Silverstone Festival on August 23. “Vehicles with such distinguished provenance rarely enter the market, making this an exceptional opportunity for collectors and enthusiasts alike,” said Rob Hubbard, Managing Director and Principal Auctioneer of Iconic Auctioneers. “Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II’s personal Range Rover combines automotive excellence with an unmatched historical significance.”
The website of Iconic Auctioneers on their website cited, "This significant vehicle, exclusively used by Her Majesty between 2006 and 2008, represents a rare opportunity to acquire a historically important, exquisitely presented, and uniquely specified Royal Range Rover. Originally supplied directly by Land Rover Special Vehicle Operations, the vehicle was meticulously prepared for its prestigious duties."

But if four wheels aren’t quite enough, there’s also an airborne option. King Charles is reportedly selling the late Queen’s private helicopter, an eight-seater red Sikorsky S-76C used frequently during her reign. After logging over 5,200 flight hours, the chopper is being retired and listed for around £5 million. It’s being replaced by two newer, more environmentally friendly AgustaWestland AW139s, each costing about £8.5 million and running on 50% sustainable aviation fuel. Photos of the helicopter’s interior reveal a tastefully designed cabin with grey leather seating, deep blue carpeting, tinted windows, a wooden clock, and even a built-in magazine rack. It was reportedly described as a 'Head of State Aircraft,' that highlighted its single ownership history, and serving for over a decade, from 2009 until the Queen's passing in 2022.
