Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's tell-all interview with Oprah Winfrey has "wreaked havoc on the royal family," a source claimed. So much so, Queen Elizabeth II has been working nonstop to try and clean up the mess

"She has barely had any time to herself since the interview and has been in constant crisis meetings," the source shared.

According to the source, the Queen didn't watch the two-hour CBS special, but she's been informed of every detail that the couple revealed.

"The Queen has always had a soft spot for Harry and looked out for him, so [she] is incredibly hurt and shocked that it has come to this," the source told Us Weekly. "She’s trying to be understanding and see things from Harry’s perspective, but the allegations he and Meghan have made are hard for her to digest. The interview has wreaked havoc on the royal family."

During Meghan and Harry's sit-down, they pair alleged that they were ignored when they reached out for help regarding their mental health. They also claimed members of the royal family had "concerns" over the color of their son Archie's skin, while the former actress stated Kate Middleton had caused her to cry prior to her 2018 wedding.

Winfrey later revealed the Queen and her husband, Prince Philip, weren't involved in any racially charged discussions.

"The whole family is saddened to learn the full extent of how challenging the last few years have been for Harry and Meghan," Buckingham Palace declared in response to the allegations. "The issues raised, particularly that of race, are concerning. While some recollections may vary, they are taken very seriously and will be addressed by the family privately. Harry, Meghan and Archie will always be much loved family members."

A second insider told the Daily Mail the Queen is taking "a very measured, sensible approach" to try and heal the rift within the family. "She is leading by example," the insider added. "This is a matter for her and the family to deal with."
