Princess Beatrice married property developer Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi in July 2020 and has since welcomed two daughters, Sienna Elizabeth and Athena Elizabeth. They also have a son, Christopher Woolf, from Mozzi's previous relationship. Beatrice has previously chosen to keep her daughters' faces out of the public eye to protect their privacy. However, her stance appeared to soften recently on July 28, when she made a surprise appearance at the Mall with her husband and children to cheer on the Lionesses, marking baby Athena’s first public debut.

As reported by Hello! magazine, Beatrice went makeup-free and dressed casually in a white jumper and floral skirt to blend in with the crowd. Meanwhile, Mozzi wore a teal shirt and green chinos, while Wolfie climbed onto the barriers for a better view of the Lionesses. Baby Athena, dressed in a pretty pink outfit, was strapped to her father's chest. The family joined thousands gathered around Victoria Memorial outside Buckingham Palace to welcome the Lionesses, who had defeated Spain on July 27 to secure the Cup. Given Beatrice's low-key outfit, no-fuss attendance, and the crowd's excitement to celebrate the Lionesses' win, baby Athena's debut almost went unnoticed.

Royal correspondent Danielle Stacey spoke highly of Beatrice's humble approach to mingling with the crowd, despite being a royal. She said, "It was so heartwarming to see Princess Beatrice and Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi with their young family showing their support for the Lionesses. They blended in among the crowd and waited just like any other football fans to catch a glimpse of the team during their victory parade." She added, "The Prince of Wales and Princess Charlotte's presence at the final, the King's message, and now Princess Beatrice and Edoardo standing with the public to see the players shows just how much the royal family is behind the Lionesses and women's sport."

Beatrice and Mozzi welcomed their second child earlier this year in January. Born several weeks early, Athena’s arrival followed a pregnancy that required close monitoring. In a March article for British Vogue, Beatrice opened up about the experience, sharing that she and her husband understood they would need "to prepare for an early arrival." Reflecting on the journey, she penned, "Looking back over those months of sheer worry, I am filled with a sense of determination that more can be done to help others find answers to those questions around the complications [of] preterm birth – questions that defined my days (and nights) during pregnancy."

After Athena's birth, the Princess of York chose to keep her daughter's face off social media. According to Grazia Daily, the royal family's Instagram account shared a picture of the newborn baby wrapped in a pink blanket with her hand covering her face. The choice of a photo where Athena’s face was hidden reflects how the couple will handle social media for their children in the future.
