Prince Harry Snubbed From Peter Phillips’ Wedding ― and One Royal Is Said to Be the Reason
A royal expert suggests that the Royal Family made a clear choice to keep one royal happy, leaving Prince Harry off the guest list.
Royal wedding bells are about to ring for Peter Phillips and Harriet Sperling, who are set to tie the knot on June 6. But while the Royal Family gathers at All Saints’ Church in Kemble this Saturday, Prince Harry will reportedly be absent. Reports suggest that the Duke of Sussex’s presence could have compromised the presence of his older brother, Prince William. By the looks of it, it seems the royals have made their choice clear in the ongoing brotherly feud.
Royal expert Rob Schuter recently quoted a royal insider in his Naughty But Nice Substack, suggesting, “There was never going to be a scenario where William and Harry spent the day together. That ship has sailed." While another source added, “Nobody sat around debating this. William was always going to win.”
There was a time when William and Harry were both considered to be the future of the monarchy, irrespective of the cruel heir and spare disparity. However, things took a turn when the Duke stepped back as a senior royal and shifted to the US in 2020. In the years since, the physical distance has mirrored a growing emotional divide. Meanwhile, the Prince of Wales remains in the UK, carrying the mantle of the Crown. As the insider told the royal journalist, “One brother is the future of the institution. The other walked away from it."
Ultimately, the Royal Family's current priority seems to be ensuring the future King's peace of mind during his cousin's wedding. A source bluntly noted, “The calculation was straightforward. Keep William happy and the event goes ahead without a problem.”
The relationship between the brothers allegedly remains profoundly fractured, and family members have given up trying to force a reconciliation. “People still talk about reconciliation...William isn’t interested in sharing a room, a table, or a photo opportunity with Harry.” When such gatherings force a decision between the two, the verdict is absolute. “There is no choice,” the source told Shuter, adding, “William is the heir. William is the priority. Every single time.”
This July, the rumor mill is running high that the Duke, along with his wife, Meghan Markle, and their kids, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, are expected to visit the UK to mark the one-year countdown to the 2027 Invictus Games in Birmingham. King Charles, who is reportedly hoping for a reconciliation for the sake of his California-based grandchildren, may use this opportunity to invite the Sussexes to Balmoral to resolve the long-standing rift.
