Prince Harry Setting Up Archie and Lilibet for a Lot of 'Emotional Problems' When Older, Says Expert

Prince Harry finally reunited with King Charles over private tea on September 10 during his UK trip. The father and son met after 19 months, marking a positive step toward mending their fractured relationship. Reflecting on the reunion, royal expert Hugo Vickers suggested that the meetup was simply a plot for attention on Harry's part. He also expressed concern for Harry’s children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, claiming that the Duke was setting them up for ‘emotional problems’ by keeping them away from Charles.

While Vickers expressed support for the reconciliation, he didn't have positive words to say about Harry’s life in Montecito, far away from his family. He said on The Sun's Royal Exclusive Show, "He's probably, looks pretty unhappy in his present life out in Montecito." Concerning Archie and Lilibet's upbringing, he added, "I also worry about the children because there's going to come a point when they're going to say, 'Why haven't I met my grandfather on either side?' And so he's storing up a lot of... emotional problems for them, I think." The expert believed that if Harry did not 'apologize' and reconcile properly, his children could grow up in California, never knowing their royal relatives.

The expert painted a picture of how Archie and Lilibet’s lives would look without their cousins: "One day, as they grow up, they're going to get irritated by having had the backs of their heads photographed and used for promotion, and never having met their grandfathers, either side." He suggested that if Harry truly wanted to bring his children to the UK, he should stop demanding an apology from the royal family. Vickers also shared that while Meghan Markle has no problem earning money as a celebrity, the Prince was not trained for it, indirectly affecting his children’s lives.
This wasn't the only time Vickers has expressed worry for Archie and Lilibet’s future. In a previous episode, he claimed that Markle could face ‘terrible revenge’ from her kids in the future. Discussing how the two children are often featured with their faces obscured, he said on The Sun's Royal Exclusive Show, "I just think there's gonna be a terrible revenge when those children grow up...I would be very annoyed if I found that I'd been used in all these posts in a strange way by my parents." Royal correspondent Samara Gill chimed in and opined that it is indeed 'tragic' that Charles and Thomas Markle are not included in any capacity in the children's lives.

Despite concerns for Archie and Lilibet’s future, when asked recently if he would bring his children to the UK one day, Harry told The Guardian, "Yes, I would. This week has definitely brought that closer," referencing his meeting with Charles. His confident statement was in stark contrast to his BBC interview in May, when he had stressed that he doesn’t "see a world in which [he] would be bringing [his] wife and children back to the UK."
