Prince Harry May Be Planning A Movie About Princess Diana — and It Could Enrage Prince William
A royal expert has speculated that Prince Harry may announce something right in time for Earl Spencer's forthcoming debut book about his late sister.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle may be fulfilling their filmmaking ambitions in the UK after spending time in Hollywood. The couple, who landed last week along with their two children, are rumored to be adding a new project to their schedule. It has been reported that Markle was hunting for a property that boasts a state-of-the-art film studio and ample privacy. With speculations running wild, a royal expert has weighed in on Harry's purpose and his planning for the perfect comeback project.
Richard Kay, the Daily Mail's Senior Editor-at-Large, has claimed that Harry is reportedly reaching out to Princess Diana's former friends for a film about her. This project is expected to occupy the Duke's schedule during his first year in Britain. Next year marks the thirtieth anniversary of Diana's death, with several events and tributes underway. Kay suggests that this anniversary will bring the late Princess of Wales' legacy back into focus and may heighten tensions between Prince William and Harry.
"Diana has dominated the thinking of both William and Harry for the last ten years," Kay explained to Palace Confidential host Luke Blackall. "When they made, nine years ago, those documentaries to mark the twentieth anniversary of their mother's death, that was the last time they were really in step together." Kay added, "I am told that one of the reasons Harry's here is to make a television film, his own film, about his mother."
Continuing the discussion of the connection between Harry and Diana, Kay emphasized that both Harry and William are equally her sons, although the Duke seems to be more overt in claiming Diana's legacy. William, while occasionally referencing their mother, does not dwell on it as much, which frustrates his younger brother.
Kay suggested that Harry's attempts to use his mother's memories and the Spencer name to distinguish himself from the House of Windsor will continue to be a significant theme, especially given his recent reunion with his mother's extended family. "Harry has tried to claim the Diana legacy for himself. Let's not forget who Harry spent time with when he was here in July; it was Diana's family at Althorp," Kay noted.
Kay speculated that Harry may announce something right in time for Earl Spencer's forthcoming debut book about his late sister. It is believed that Spencer's book will detail the failed marriage between Diana and King Charles in depth, which could once again rock the foundations of the monarchy.
With Harry speculated to be strongly motivated to make the move, 'the firm' will have to brace itself for more unexpected scrutiny and scandals in the coming months.
