The rift between Prince Harry and Prince William has dominated royal headlines for years now, showing little sign of thawing. Despite the Duke's brief reunion with King Charles in September, the feuding brothers did not meet, as the Prince of Wales maintained a packed schedule of engagements. Now, however, it appears Harry may be ready to budge. A source claims he is keen to mend fences with William and hopes to use their shared love of football as common ground, potentially reuniting during the FIFA World Cup.

In an article for Women's Day, royal expert Phil Dampier revealed that the Prince of Wales is set to attend several matches of the FIFA World Cup, held in June and July in the US, Canada, and Mexico. The Duke of Sussex is also planning on seeing some of England's games. Dampier quoted an insider explaining Harry's alleged desire to reconnect with William during one of the football matches, "It would be a great opportunity and a relaxed atmosphere, but who knows? Harry is keener to make it up, but I'm not sure William is ready to forgive him for the comments he has made, particularly smearing his wife, Catherine, as a racist."

Moreover, Dampier argued that Harry was hoping to use Charles and William's upcoming US visits would enable them to bury the hatchet. He argued, "The prodigal son is said to be 'desperate' for Charles to be reunited with his grandchildren, whom he hasn't seen for nearly four years. Harry also hopes his shared love of football will help him make it up with his brother William."

William is currently President of the Football Association and an ardent supporter of the Aston Villa team. Meanwhile, Harry has shown enthusiasm for American football and rugby, rather than English football.

According to The Sun, William is allegedly planning to attend the FIFA World Cup in Los Angeles with Kate Middleton and their three children. The trip would be especially beneficial for Prince George, who is already an enthusiastic Three Lions supporter. Commenting on the Prince's plans to bring his children, an insider shared, "Wills is planning to come to the US, and we have been told to prepare for what a trip would entail. Interactions between security services and UK/US intelligence teams are in progress." Meanwhile, close friends of Harry also told the outlet that he may also arrive at the stadium to watch the match in person.

William and Middleton are reportedly also on Trump's guest list for America's 250th anniversary celebrations. Much to Harry's dismay, he wouldn't get to secure an invite to the same to reunite with his brother and sister-in-law. An insider shut down the idea, telling Page Six, "Obviously, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex aren't working royals, so they will not be invited to any celebrations. Any invitation would have to come at the behest of the royal family themselves."
