Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s Public Appearances Are Just Like ‘Politicians,’ TV Host Says

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's reunion with King Charles has sparked fresh criticism, with one TV host comparing the couple to politicians.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle recently reunited with King Charles during a private gathering earlier this month. It was a milestone moment for Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet as well since they got to spend time with their grandfather after nearly four years. While reports later suggested that the Prince was left  "buoyed, very happy, and really energised" and is considering more trips to the UK, some commentators have continued to criticize the Sussexes. One TV show host in particular has argued that the California-based couple's public appearances resemble those of politicians more than former working royals.

Talking on The Jeremy Kyle Breakfast Show along with royal commentator Dikie Arbiter, Jeremy Kyle labeled their act as something seasoned "politicians" would do. "It is complete hypocrisy by both of them. And again, a bit like politicians, do they not suss out that the British public, the silent majority, have an opinion of them that frankly isn't going to change?" he highlighted. Kyle noted that the Sussexes, who have never left a single media opportunity to taint the royal family and their term as working royals, are now keen on holding on to the prince and princess titles for their children, Archie and Lilibet. Arbiter agreed with Kyle and stated that "it's not going to change" and criticized the Sussexes' move of trying to enjoy "the best of both worlds".

"The children's titles have been a birthright since their grandfather became monarch. This matter has been settled for some time in alignment with Buckingham Palace," a spokesperson for the ex-royals previously stated in 2023. The couple has sparked controversy over past claims about the royal family, including allegations surrounding conversations about Prince Archie's skin tone, first raised during their interview with Oprah Winfrey. During their 2021 interview with Winfrey, Harry had disclosed a chat with a royal family member regarding concerns about the skin tone of unborn Archie. He later clarified that he did not label his family as racist, attributing that terminology to media interpretation.

But after their latest sit-down with the King, the Sussexes allegedly seem to be eyeing a second innings within the royal fold. “Although his recent visit began disastrously and he will find the Court case against Associated Newspapers an expensive failure, Harry’s morale will undoubtedly be boosted by the meeting involving Meghan and Archie and Lili and the King and Queen at Highgrove which has finally happened," royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams told the Daily Express.

"He will undoubtedly plan more visits, and it will have been noted by the Palace that they have kept silent subsequently as was undoubtedly agreed," he further stated. If reports are to be believed, Prince Harry is set to return to the UK in September for Invictus-related events; whether Markle and the children will join him is still under speculation.
