Prince Harry and Meghan Markle Just Put Netflix Drama to Rest with Latest Outing
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle seem to have patched things with Netflix, as they showed up at a party hosted by the streaming giant's CEO, Ted Sarandos.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle may have used a recent party to signal exactly where their professional future stands. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex stepped out for a glamorous evening on April 10, hosted by Netflix Co-CEO Ted Sarandos, suggesting that their partnership with the streaming giant is back on solid ground, at least by the looks of it. Held to celebrate the upcoming second season of the critically acclaimed series Beef, the California-based couple looked well-integrated into the streamer’s inner circle. The two were seen mingling with industry heavyweights like Katy Perry, Oscar Isaac, and Carey Mulligan, among others. They were clicked alongside Sarandos and his wife, Nicole Avant, perfectly dismantling months of reports of a possible feud.
The latest outing arrives at a critical juncture for Archewell Productions — serving as a direct rebuttal to industry rumors that have followed the couple since 2020. Although speculation of a falling out persisted after the cancellation of the Duchess’s animated series, Pearl, and recent reports that With Love, Meghan won’t be returning for a third season, the Sussexes offered a visible counternarrative, effectively challenging the ‘lack of content’ labels that escalated after their August 2025 contract renewal.
The rift narrative gained more fuel when Sarandoes unfollowed As Ever and Markle on Instagram. Royal commentator, Rob Shuter, had also suggested on his Naughty But Nice Substack that the couple was looking at legal options, believing that Netflix might have breached their contract. “They’re looking at their contract very carefully,” he quoted an insider, stating, “They feel something isn’t right.” The source further highlighted that their relationship has become “very strained,” and once lawyers are involved in the matter, it would be very hard for the two to “come back from that.” While reports suggested a possible frosty relationship between the two, Netflix executives were quick to debunk the narrative.
During a recent press event, Netflix Chief Content Officer Bela Bajaria dismissed reports of tension and urged the public to maintain skepticism toward tabloid claims. Commenting on Variety’s claim that Netflix and the Sussexes have a “falling out,” she said, “I would say don’t believe whatever you read…Maybe we should all do a little fact-checking. But here’s the thing: We still have a relationship with them, we have movies in development with them, we have an amazing doc with them, they have things in development on the TV and film side.” Her insistence that “there’s no juicy story there” is supported by Harry and Markle’s current slate. The Sussexes are reportedly deep in development with their latest passion project, focusing on the world of professional polo.
For the recent outing, the Duchess opted for a glamorous chartreuse 'Gale' gown by Heidi Merrick, pairing it with Jimmy Choo strappy heels, whereas the Duke went for a simple navy suit and a white button-down shirt.
