Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are set to make headlines again as royal biographer Tom Bower gears up to release a new book on the Sussexes' exit. With Bower promising to drop bombshells, the public conversation on the couple's time in the royal fold is likely to heat up. Bower's new book comes after the success of his 2022 bestseller, Revenge: Meghan, Harry and the War Between the Windsors.
As reported by Marca, in an interview, Bower said, "I've got a lot of new material already, and I think the whole world wants new insights. It's an amazing story, an eye-watering, unique story because it's unprecedented.” The biographer further said, "This is such a famous couple who are constantly fighting [for themselves]. They are relentless and restless, which makes it so interesting."
Bower was alluding to how the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, for years now, have been busy telling their story and working hard to build the Sussex brand with the help of social media, interviews, documentaries, and even Harry's memoir, Spare. In his work, Bower, known for his investigative writing, will also talk about Markle’s Netflix cooking show, With Love, Meghan, as it has reportedly caused chaos within Palace walls. He is likely to reveal how the senior royals have reacted to Harry and Markle's myriad media ventures. The author will also touch upon the relationship between Markle and the rest of the royal family throughout the years.
Additionally, the upcoming book is also expected to explore two major incidents from Harry’s current life — his controversial BBC interview and the legal storm surrounding his state security case. Speaking of Bower’s previous book, royal expert Christine Ross said, "Bower has spoken to some really interesting and unique sources for this book, giving us insights and access we haven't seen before." Ross added, “Bower is showing us how Meghan and Harry wanted to live their lives, and unraveling how that went wrong and changed over the course of two years."
As reported by Marie Claire, the expert noted that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have made one thing clear that they prefer to be the authors of their own story. With that in mind, they may not be too pleased with the spotlight Bower’s book is about to get. If the new book lives up to the expectations, Harry and Markle could soon face fresh media storms as their past decisions resurface. The Sussexes' popularity has seen a significant drop in recent months. Markle’s popularity in the UK fell to just 20%, with 65% of people having a negative opinion of her, as reported by the Daily Mail. Harry isn’t doing much better either, as 63% of the people have a negative view of him. It’s his lowest rating since early 2023.
