Meghan Markle’s Latest Move Has Been Called an Act of ‘Treason’: ‘She Wants to Achieve...'

The Sussexes left no stone unturned in celebrating Princess Lilibet's fourth birthday on June 4. While the adorable photos of their family trip to Disneyland were cherished by my royal watchers, one video posted by Markle horrified many. It featured her and Harry twerking to induce labor in a hospital delivery room ahead of Lilibet's birth in 2021.

The video showed Markle in a black maxi dress as she danced to Starrkeisha's Baby Mama. Markle captioned the same, “Four years ago today, this also happened. Both of our children were a week past their due dates… so when spicy food, all that walking, and acupuncture didn’t work, there was only one thing left to do!” As per OK! magazine, in response, royal commentator Sarah Vine, trolling Markle, gave her a new nickname — the ‘Duchess of Privacy’. Vine penned, “It can't be real, can it? Whatever next, the Prince and Princess of Wales doing sl*tdrops to Beyonce's Gimme Some? Their Majesties King Charles and Queen Camilla mouthing along to Lola Young's Messy? Surely there's a law against such obscenities? Treason!”
Vine further opined, “Eye-popping, jaw-droppingly embarrassing. Some joker must have cooked this up in his mom's basement, hacked her account, and posted it. It's the only explanation.” Dubbing it a ‘kooky display,’ the commentator wondered what Markle wanted to ‘achieve’ by sharing it on social media. Labeling the video as ‘crass and vulgar,’ she questioned what had happened to Markle and Harry's need for privacy.
Other royal experts have echoed their views. Royal expert Richard Eden told the Daily Mail he initially assumed the video to have been AI-generated. He said, “It's just so unusual, isn't it? It's not what you expect to see from members of the royal family.” The expert further claimed, “If the Princess of Wales ever posts a video like this, I'm giving up royal commentary altogether,” explaining the importance of ‘dignity and decorum’ in the royal family. The commentator added, “It would be the same for an American President. I don't want to see videos of Donald Trump twerking in the same way, I don't want to see members of the royal family twerking.”
Journalist Megyn Kelly, on her podcast, The Megyn Kelly Show, also slammed Markle for posting the video. According to The Wrap, Kelly called the video ‘problematic,’ suggesting that such occasions should remain private. She slammed, “When you are together in that room and your child is coming, and maybe you may have a fun moment... This is not how I spent my moments before giving birth, but maybe you do have a fun moment, but it's private." Many netizens also dubbed the video cringeworthy, while others found it candid and relatable.
