Meghan Markle may be accustomed to some criticism and the occasional hiccup, but she may need to brace herself for this upcoming bombshell. According to new reports, her former best friend, Jessica Mulroney, has been offered an exclusive $1M book deal to spill the details of their friendship. Sources claim Mulroney may consider the offer, as she feels no loyalty toward the Duchess and does not fondly remember being cancelled, leaving her eager to finally tell her side of the story.

Royal columnist Rob Shuter spoke to various insiders who revealed Mulroney's alleged plans to accept the lucrative deal. As documented on his Substack, a publishing source spilled, "Jessica has absolutely nothing left to lose. Meghan cut her off years ago. The friendship is dead. The loyalty went with it." As Shuter put it, Mulroney wasn't just another friend; her children were page boys and bridesmaids at Markle's 2018 wedding to Prince Harry. Moreover, she was by Markle's side during her life in Toronto, her social climb, and her initial courtship with the Duke. "She [Mulroney] saw everything. And she remembers all of it," said another insider.

The fracture in their friendship, as sources claimed, came after the Duchess distanced herself from Mulroney over her problematic behavior with influencer Sasha Exeter. In 2020, during the height of the Black Lives Matter movement, Exeter alleged that Mulroney threatened to use her connections to hurt her career, accusing her of 'textbook white privilege' after a disagreement. Reflecting on the unfortunate turn of events, an insider sighed, "The moment trouble hits, she [Markle] detaches. No mess, no mercy." Despite the breakdown of their bond, Mulroney's ex-husband, Ben, recently revealed on the Can't Be Censored podcast that Markle and his former wife were now on 'positive terms.'

Commenting on Ben's podcast remarks, a source sneered, "That's pure fiction. There's been no real contact for years." Publishing insiders also dished that if Mulroney were to accept the book deal, it "wouldn't be vague. It would be specific, personal, and deeply uncomfortable." Another scoffed, "If she [Mulroney] talks, Meghan won't like what she hears." Whether she signs the expensive deal remains yet to be confirmed, but as Shuter aptly puts it, "the interest is real, the money is serious, and the silence is thinning."

Unsurprisingly, Mulroney reportedly regrets being friends with the Duchess. Weighing in on their ruptured friendship, a source said, "While she [Mulroney] enjoyed all the exposure it brought her at the time, that same exposure is what caused her social media rift to blow up in the way it did, and led to the end of her friendship with Meghan and her marriage." At the time of the Exeter controversy, Mulroney, defending herself, referenced her close bond with Markle to argue that she had "lived a very public and personal experience... where race was front and centre." She was hinting at Markle's experience as a victim of racial bias, which she witnessed up close and personal.
