Meghan Markle Shares a Glimpse of Her New Project — and It’s a Trip Down Royal Memory Lane
Meghan Markle may have bid adieu to her life as a working royal six years ago, but she still pays tribute to that chapter through subtle fashion choices. On February 4, the Duchess of Sussex shared a new photo on her lifestyle brand, As Ever's Instagram, to promote the Sweetheart Bundle collaboration with Compartés Chocolates. In the image, her strapless navy dress particularly stood out, as it was the same outfit she wore to the Royal Foundation Dinner in November 2018, when she was expecting her first child.
Markle's recent post saw her holding red balloons tied around a jar of As Ever jam. The look was reminiscent of the Royal Foundation Dinner she had attended with Prince Harry, Kate Middleton, and Prince William. Though the event was not publicized, a private charity event, photos shared by singer-songwriter Tom Walker showed the Duchess with glowy makeup in the same floral Roland Mouret dress. Walker fondly captioned the post on X, "I had the absolute honor of performing for and meeting The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge & The Duke and Duchess of Sussex for the annual @kensingtonroyal #RoyalFoundation dinner."
The Royal Foundation Dinner at Victoria House in 2018 was considered a high-profile occasion, with the 'Fab Four' appearing together in support of a shared charitable mission, though it remained a relatively low-key affair. It was part of the work of The Royal Foundation, a charity originally set up by William and Harry in 2009 to support mental health, conservation, champion the youth, and help veterans and the armed forces. Markle had been formally added as a Patron of the Foundation after her marriage to Harry in May 2018.
For those unversed, Markle's latest look is also a subtle tribute to Prince Archie, as she was pregnant with him during that time. On January 26, she had posted a black and white image in the same strapless dress on her brand's Instagram. There, she playfully teased the launch of As Ever's Valentine's Day Collection, which includes strawberry and raspberry-flavored fruit spreads. She styled her hair just the same as she did when she first wore the dress, but added sunglasses with a balloon bouquet.
As for As Ever, Markle launched her brand in March 2025 as a curated collection of shelf-stable food products, including jams, teas, cookie mix, and flower sprinkles.
Another post on the brand's social media on January 29 saw Markle build anticipation for her Valentine's Day collection. It was captioned, "Sweet favorites return, plus something brand new. Set your reminder — it won't last long. The As ever x @compartes Valentine's Day collection, coming Saturday." She teased the product, a chocolate bar resting on a tray with a napkin underneath, as a 'love letter in chocolate,' set to arrive online just in time for the big day. The release marks another collaboration with Los Angeles chocolatier Compartés, which was launched on January 31.
