Exiled Royals: Meghan Markle and Prince Harry Shunned from Family Reunion for 2 Scandalous Reasons
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been shunned from royal family reunion primarily due to security concerns for the duo and King Charles' need to focus on family unity.
Any type of reunion with the British royal family for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle is a "no-go" for two key reasons not commonly addressed: security and family unity.
In addition to these concerns, royal expert Sarah Hewson points out how the dynamic between Team Sussex and senior monarchy members is just "a mess, and it's a very sorry mess."
As King Charles III and his court prepare to relocate to Balmoral Castle near the Scottish Highlands, annual speculation on whether the Montecito twosome will get an invite to vacation with the royals is picking up steam.
"We're always told the King's door is always open, but would they be invited?" Hewson asked. "I don't see an actual physical invitation being issued but were they to ask, it would be very difficult for the King to say no. He doesn't want this distance with his son, and he certainly doesn't want this barrier between him and his grandchildren."
The summer retreat to Balmoral near the village of Ballater in Scotland has remained unbroken each year since the reign of Queen Victoria in the nineteenth century. The King and Queen Camilla stay at the private estate from late July to late September or early October, and both senior and junior family members receive invitations to holiday at the spread at various times.
Harry and Meghan have been invited in recent years only to have the invitation ignored. Their last sojourn at the yearly royal tradition came during the summer of 2018 and remains their final stay at the estate as a couple. It is rumored the ex-actress dislikes the country compound largely due to its remoteness and the animal hunting activities the royals partake in. She also allegedly felt "unsafe" at the estate even though it is heavily guarded by Police Scotland with additional staff from Scotland Yard.
Despite the pair's long-running Balmoral absence, the King is said to remain hopeful they will one day come with both their children.
"He's met Lilibet once, Archie just a handful of times," Hewson added. "That's really, really sad. Obviously geography plays a part in that, we aren't going to see the King jumping on a plane to California to see them. We know things with the Waleses and the Sussexes are extremely tense. I don't see any signs of any thawing there — and it's really not a priority."
Both His Majesty and Kate, Princess of Wales' delicate health conditions are also a concern since the Sussex couple would "quite obviously" cause all the royals "some stress."
The commentator concluded: "One of the things the Waleses really want to focus on now is keeping things calm, stress levels down, during the Princess' recuperation. I really don't think a reunion with Harry and Meghan is going to do anything for stress levels, and it's just not their focus."
