Meghan Markle Posts Cryptic "As Ever" Video Amid Acting Comeback Speculation
Meghan Markle may have dropped a tiny clue about what’s next as her rumored return to acting continues to make headlines.
Meghan Markle might be returning to what she does best: acting, and a new video might just be the latest clue. The Duchess recently posted a clip on the social media page for her lifestyle brand, As Ever, leaving fans busy trying to decipher what it could mean.
In the clip, Markle can be seen strolling through a woodland carrying a basket of apples. Dressed in a black dress, cream cardigan, and boots, she briefly stops to glance up towards the trees before continuing on her way. Keeping things deliberately vague, the post was captioned, “A little hint of what’s coming,” followed by an apple emoji.
The post has especially caught attention after reports of her potential return to acting started making headlines. It was revealed that the former Suits star could be teaming up with Guy Ritchie for his hit Netflix series The Gentlemen. The show is a spin-off of Ritchie’s 2019 movie of the same name, which starred Matthew McConaughey and Hugh Grant. It is also filmed in the UK, making the rumored role particularly intriguing given the Sussexes’ plans to spend more time back in Britain.
Moreover, Markle’s alleged upcoming acting project is also one of the reported reasons for the Sussexes preparing for a major change of their own. Harry and Markle are reportedly relocating to Britain with Archie and Lilibet, six years after moving to the US. The children have apparently already been enrolled in British schools, with their classes starting in September.
There is still no official word on what Markle’s role would look like if she does join the show. Season two, starring Theo James and Kaya Scodelario, is due to hit Netflix in early September, while a third season has officially been greenlit. Given that the first season was a massive success for the streamer, there is clearly plenty of interest in keeping the show going.
However, the Daily Express reports that things may have changed, with Markle allegedly no longer set to appear in the series following backlash in the UK. Royal author Tina Brown claimed she had learned that the casting had been withdrawn. She said, “I learned that the casting of Meghan Markle has been withdrawn.” So far, none of the affiliated parties have made any public comments on the matter.
