Meghan Markle Makes Rare Comment After 'Suits' Co-Star Patrick J. Adams Says He Never Got Her Jam
After Patrick J. Adams joked about not receiving Meghan Markle's jams, she clarified that there was no bad blood, just good vibes.
Fans of the legal drama Suits will never forget the chemistry between Mike Ross and Rachel Zane, the kind that made their late-night study sessions feel more intense than any courtroom showdowns. Sadly for die-hard shippers, Patrick J. Adams tied the knot with his partner in 2016, followed by Meghan Markle's royal wedding to Prince Harry two years later. Still, their off-screen bond remains strong, as Adams recently joked about missing out on his co-star's As Ever jam. Markle had a sweet response to his comment, proving there was no bad blood.
The Suits actor recently sat down for an interview with Amanda Hirsch for a new episode of the Not Skinny But Not Fat podcast, where he joked about not receiving the special giveaway jams before suggesting that they try it out together. After Hirsch posted a snippet of the interview on Instagram, the Duchess of Sussex left a beautiful comment that read, "Jams en route for you @patrickjadams & @sleepinthegardn Hugs to those beautiful babies. Send my love to your mom." Adams is a proud father to three daughters, whom he shares with his wife, Troian Bellisario.
Markle's response comes after Adams jokingly asked Hirsch on her podcast if she had ever received a jam from As Ever. When Hirsch responded in the affirmative, he quipped, "Did you? You got a jam? I didn't get a jam." To which, the host clarified, "No, first of all, you need to get on the list," before revealing that she hadn't tasted it because she didn't want to open the box. When the actor suggested that they should have 'cracked it open,' as it would go bad, Hirsch replied, "Does it? It's preserves—I'm preserving them."
Elsewhere in the sitdown, Adams revealed that he has always been protective of his co-star. Hirsch told him about a note she had received from the Duchess after posting a message of support on social media. "The way that happened was that her [Markle's] show was coming out, and I had said on my Instagram, where I say stupid s---, that I am worried for Meghan. Cause you know, you've been protective over her in the past." To which he responded, "What she's gone through is insane," alluding to the media harassment she faced after her royal wedding.
Indeed, Adams has defended Markle from the racially charged abuse she faced after her marriage to Harry. In a blistering March 2021 Instagram post, he slammed, "It sickened me to read the endless racist, slanderous, clickbaiting vitriol spewed in her [Markle's] direction from all manner of media across the UK and the world, but I also knew that Meghan was stronger than people realized or understood and they would regret underestimating her." Over the years, he has often spoken fondly of her, supporting her through major life changes, and even paying a sweet nod to her royal marriage on his Instagram bio.
