Prince Harry made a public plea for reconciliation with the royal family in his infamous BBC interview on May 2. The Duke of Sussex also revealed that his security court case was the main reason King Charles refused to speak with him. Unfortunately for him, his call for peace fell flat, as the rift with his estranged family continues to deepen. A source revealed that after this embarrassment, Meghan Markle is 'leading the charge' by organizing multiple family trips this summer to make Harry feel at ease.

The insider claimed that Markle and Harry are turning their focus towards family fun this summer. They told OK! Magazine, "She [Markle] wants to go to Napa with Harry, do wine tastings, she wants to go to Big Sur and other parts of Northern California with the kids. And she and Harry are even talking about visiting Canada." As per the insider, the couple also have a 'standing invite' to visit Katharine McPhee and Harry's 'second father', David Foster. They added, "The other option is going to cottage country north of Toronto; they have friends with big spreads on Lake Muskoka that they can visit."

The source revealed that Markle is making a 'big effort to prop up' her husband, and she wants to "remind him that he's got all he needs with her and the kids and their beautiful life in America." They further revealed that their vacation will be dedicated to "bonding as a family and unwinding after a hectic time for both of them." According to the Royal Insider, the Sussexes alleged summer trip plans come not long after Markle and Harry jetted off to Disneyland to celebrate Princess Lilibet’s fourth birthday. Reports suggest that their fun getaway might have cost them between $4k – $7k for the VIP passes alone.

Prince Harry said in his BBC interview that his family would never forgive him for a lot of things, mainly for writing a memoir about them. He stressed, "I don't know how much longer my father has, he won't speak to me because of this security stuff. It would be nice to reconcile." The interview has reportedly sent shockwaves behind closed Palace doors and caused further damage to the family's already strained relationship with the Duke. As reported by the Daily Express, a source said that King Charles is 'frustrated and upset' at Harry's lack of respect for his principle. Meanwhile, a friend of Prince William told the Daily Beast that if William did wish to reconcile, "a period of silence would have been the right thing to do."
