Meghan Markle Gives Harry 6 Months in the UK — But She Already Has an 'Exit Strategy'
According to insiders, this is shaping up to be one of the biggest tests of the Sussexes’ marriage.
The news of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's alleged move to the U.K. has shocked everyone, including the royal family. However, insiders who spoke to Rob Shuter on his Naughty But Nice Substack have claimed that it isn’t permanent. In fact, it seems like Markle has only agreed to a trial period of a few months, instead of a complete, long-term life change for her family.
According to her friends, Markle has reportedly had a rather detailed discussion with Harry about the fact that she will be willing to spend six months in his homeland. However, the couple will apparently be keeping their incredible estate in Montecito, along with their vacation home in Portugal. She reportedly has made it clear that she feels more at home there than in the U.K. One of the biggest reasons is reportedly that Markle does not actually know anybody in the country, apart from members of the Royal family.
This will apparently result in isolation, which the Duchess might not be ready for, making the transition difficult. Furthermore, insiders close to the couple agree that this grand move can actually put a lot of strain on their marriage and partnership. After all, she will be leaving her mother and her entire support system behind. While discussing this, one of Markle’s friends, who preferred to remain unnamed, explained, “Meghan is agreeing to try it, but she isn’t moving back to Britain. Six months is the test. She wants an exit strategy.” Meanwhile, another source strongly believes that Harry will ultimately face a choice in the future.
They added, “Eventually, Harry may have to choose between his wife’s happiness and his country. That is the nightmare scenario nobody wants to talk about.” According to recent reports, Markle’s mother, Doria Ragland, is also allegedly feeling shattered over her daughter and grandchildren moving so far away. At the end of the day, it seems like this might be building up to become one of the biggest tests of Harry and Markle’s marriage. However, neither Markle nor Harry nor the Sussexes’ representatives have publicly made any comments on these claims, as of yet.
