Inside Princess Kate’s Major Concerns Over a Potential Harry and Meghan Reconciliation
Princess Kate plans to be extremely cautious when it comes to the Duke and Duchess of Sussex!
After Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s reunion with King Charles and Queen Camilla at Highgrove House in Gloucestershire, it seems like an official royal reconciliation might actually be on the cards for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. The visit notably included their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, marking the first time the King met the children in four years, making it all the more special for the monarch. However, it seems like the Prince and Princess of Wales reportedly might not be entirely on board with a wider family reconciliation just yet.
This tension largely stems from Harry and Meghan publicizing grievances against Prince William and Princess Kate in various interviews following their step back from royal duties. Furthermore, Kate reportedly holds a grudge over the unexpected and critical things Harry wrote about her in his memoir, Spare. According to sources, William has also vowed to do whatever it takes to ensure Harry and Meghan don't "get to have the last laugh" on this occasion, with an insider telling Woman’s Day, "Kate feels like the royal family is being hijacked!"
The insider went on to elaborate, explaining, "She and William don’t want to see Meghan and Harry welcomed back into the fold. They see them as troublemakers and people who can’t be trusted." Reportedly, the Princess of Wales is not ready to reopen old chapters, feeling it would be counterproductive to the family's peace.
Discussing her perspective, the source added, "Kate’s worked incredibly hard to rebuild a sense of calm around her family over the past few years. The thought of reopening old chapters is naturally emotional," noting that "she just wants this firmly behind her!" Despite these strong feelings from the Waleses, the source made it clear that King Charles is still trying to keep his lines of communication open when it comes to Harry and Meghan.
However, Kate is going in the opposite direction. She seemingly plans to be extremely cautious when it comes to the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. While discussing this matter, another source explained, “Charles has never stopped hoping the family will heal, but Kate and William remain wary after years of private family matters being aired in public. Kate feels they’ve paid a very high price over the past few years; she’s cautious about Harry and Meghan having access again when there are still unresolved issues. She wouldn’t be surprised if this is them setting some sort of trap.” Neither Kate nor William has responded to the claims publicly as of yet.
