King Charles Is Handed a Very Unexpected Present at a Boxing Academy — and He Can’t Stop Laughing
The Royal Family X account shared the special moment by labeling coach Gibson as a 'superfan'.
King Charles landed in the Bahamas yesterday, beginning a nine-day Caribbean tour that will conclude next week with his attendance at a summit of Commonwealth leaders in Antigua and Barbuda. He began the second day by honoring the Bahamas Defense Forces, then visited Bonefish Pond National Park, where he planted an indigenous tree. His Majesty then took a relaxed tour of the Bahamas Boxing Academy.

It was here that the King found a hilarious surprise waiting: himself, in a crown, gloves, and boxing shorts, printed across a row of black T-shirts.
The shirts were the work of Jermaine Gibson, president and CEO of the All-Out Boxing Club, who wore one as he met the King alongside 12-year-old Sanai Miller. Gibson had made a spare for the monarch. “We made one for you; I had it made last night,” he said, as Charles pointed and laughed. Accepting the gift, the King cheekily replied, “How generous!”
He stayed to watch the young boxers train and joked with a group of children about their sessions. “It’s not an excuse to get out of school?” he asked, before adding: “I might see you at a Commonwealth Games.”

Earlier, at Bonefish Pond National Park, Charles inspected an environmentalism and preservation project to protect the ecosystem. As patron of the Bahamas National Trust, the initiative aligns with the monarch's relentless advocacy on climate change. Meanwhile, during his inaugural speech yesterday, he lauded the rich culture of the Bahamas, saying, “The way Bahamian culture has been passed down from one generation to the next. Each generation, not only cooperating, but magnifying, sometimes even transforming, that which has come before.”

Later in the day, the King is set to hold an audience with Philip Davis, the Prime Minister of the Bahamas. They share a strong connection and have met multiple times, including official audiences and international summits.
