King Charles is welcomed with cheers from the Bahamian crowd as his Autumn Tour officially begins.
King Charles has officially begun his Autumn Tour for 2026, a nine-day journey covering The Bahamas, Guyana, and Antigua and Barbuda. He arrived in the Bahamas for his first stop earlier today, without Queen Camilla, who is expected to join him soon. Upon arrival, the King was greeted by local dignitaries, followed by a ceremonial Guard of Honour to highlight the close ties between the two nations. He then received a genuinely warm welcome from the crowd as he delivered a short speech, delighting locals by including a few words in the Bahamian dialect.

During his speech, Charles exclaimed, “I reach, Amen!” which translates to “I've arrived, thank God.” The line was met with a loud cheer from the crowd, who clearly loved the gesture. From there, the Bahamian people helped kick off the King’s first royal engagement in spectacular fashion at a Youth Rally in Nassau, which showcased performances and displays from several talented local youth. The event celebrated the passion, talent, creativity, and undeniable ambition of the next generation of Commonwealth citizens. With reports noting that over 60% of Commonwealth citizens are under the age of 30, young people are truly vital to its future.
During his royal tour in the Bahamas, the monarch will take part in several key highlights. These include a visit to the Bahamian National Trust site, where he will learn more about the ongoing conservation project dedicated to restoring habitats and protecting the rich wildlife of the country. In addition, Charles will visit the RBDF Coral Harbour Base to hear about maritime security, disaster response, and search-and-rescue operations, all of which play a vital role in keeping the nation and its citizens safe.

Furthermore, Charles will visit Parliament Square & Bay Street to learn more about Bahamian culture and customs firsthand. This will feature a traditional Junkanoo parade, which is undoubtedly going to be a true celebration of everything unique that The Bahamas has to offer. Finally, the King will head to the Government House to have a grand meeting with community representatives from the islands, a major highlight of the tour. Ultimately, this visit is expected to bring the Bahamas and the United Kingdom closer, celebrating the beautiful ties they share within the Commonwealth while strengthening the enduring bond between the countries.
