Kim Kardashian Reveals Why Meghan & Harry Had Their Photos Removed After Kris' Party
Kim Kardashian is known for her close-knit circle of celebrity friends, so it came as no surprise when Prince Harry and Meghan Markle attended her mother Kris Jenner's 70th birthday party on November 8, 2025. However, speculation of a rift swirled after she deleted photos of the Sussexes from the Bond-themed bash. Initially staying mum on the issue, Kim has now finally set the record straight, explaining that the images were removed out of respect for Remembrance Day, which closely followed the celebration.

Speaking on Khloe Kardashian's podcast, Khloe in Wonder Land, Kim addressed what she and her siblings dubbed the 'Photogate.' She said, "Mom and Meghan have been friends for some years now, and they have a really sweet relationship. We were told that it was totally cool to post." She continued, "And then after it was posted, I think they realized it was Remembrance Day, and they didn't want to be seen at a party, even though it's already up, you know... And then I think they realized, like, 'Oh, this was so silly.'" She added that although the Duke and Duchess had attended the Baby2Baby charity gala the same night, they did not want to be seen 'partying and dancing' before a solemn occasion.
Remembrance Day, held annually in November, honors members of the armed forces who lost their lives in service to the country. Jenner's birthday celebration, which was on a Saturday night, came just hours before senior royals assembled at London's Cenotaph for the annual Remembrance Sunday service. Reflecting on the fallout rumors with the Sussexes, Kim stressed, "If we just made it light and made it funny, you know, I think it would have been, like, received differently, but I hated how that was received for everyone," adding that the situation was unnecessarily made into something 'so crazy and ridiculous.'
Shortly after the birthday bash, reports surfaced that Harry and Markle's camp had requested Jenner and Kim to take down their photos from Instagram. A source told Page Six that the Duke and Duchess wanted the photos removed because "they don't want to piss off the royal family while they are trying to reconcile." This confirmed earlier reports that Markle has been supporting Harry's efforts to mend fences with King Charles, and did not want Remembrance Day to be overshadowed by photos of them partying.
Following the photo deletion, rumors of a fallout spread like wildfire. As per royal columnist Rob Shuter on his Substack, Harry and Markle's photo disappearance was not accidental. A source told him, "If you show up to a Kardashian production, you're part of the machine. Meghan tried to rewrite the narrative — and Kim hated that." While insiders claimed Kim was 'done' with the Duchess after that day, the rumors now appear to be put to rest, as the friendship between the Jenner-Kardashians and the Sussexes continues to thrive.
