Being a celebrity in the public eye is no easy feat; one day, the world fawns over you, and the next, it tears you apart. Unfortunately, for Meghan Markle and Prince Harry, it was the latter when they landed in hot water for partying with Kris Jenner at her 70th birthday bash. After photos surfaced of their happy-go-lucky night, the Sussexes were criticized for letting loose during Remembrance Week. Following the chaos, a source now claims the couple asked Jenner and Kim Kardashian to delete their pictures out of respect for the royal family.

Not long after Kardashian posted a photo with Markle on Instagram, she mysteriously deleted it. Similarly, Jenner's Instagram stories, which showed the Duke and Duchess having the time of their lives, were also scrubbed. Explaining another side of the story, a source told Page Six that Markle and Harry requested the photos be deleted as, "They don't want to piss off the royal family while they are trying to reconcile." They stressed that the pictures were also removed out of respect for Britain's Remembrance Day, which honors fallen soldiers. Harry also wore a red poppy honoring late veterans who served the country during the birthday bash.

The new revelations echo a previous report by the outlet, which revealed that Markle had been subtly supporting Harry's attempts to mend fences with his family. An insider claimed at the time, "They need the [royal] family. Meghan is aware of that." The couple is reportedly well aware of the power that comes with being a royal and the HRH titles that their children hold. The source added, "Meghan knows that Harry won't be returning to royal duties, but on a human, personal level, [she wants for him to be] able to get on good terms with his father." While the Duke successfully reunited with King Charles in September, he continues to be on the ice with Prince William and Kate Middleton.

In the aftermath of the backlash, those close to the royal household reportedly questioned Markle and Harry’s 'tacky' choice of company, referring to the Kardashians. After their images hit the shelves, a Palace insider told Page Six, "It truly shows that Harry is so far removed from the rest of the family. These people may be stars in America, but the pure ostentatiousness is at odds with what Prince William is trying to do with his life and the monarchy." The Sussexes and Zuckerberg being under the same roof also raised eyebrows, given that in January, Markle had accused the billionaire of 'contributing to a global mental health crisis' by loosening content restrictions.

While Harry and Markle were dragged into the mud for partying with the Kardashians during such a solemn occasion, royal commentator Jack Stooks sided with the couple. Weighing in on the sticky situation, he told GB News, "I don't feel that where they are they need to be sort of locked away and hidden out of sight," brushing off criticism that the couple had disrespected the solemnity of the weekend.
