It's Kate Middleton’s favorite time of the year with Wimbledon 2025 opening on June 30. The Princess of Wales, who is an avid fan of tennis, without fail, is seen courtside wearing the most fashionable ensembles. While fashion trends have come and gone, one thing that has remained constant over the years in her looks is a particular checkered accessory. The Princess, who is known to pay homage through her choice of clothing and jewelry, wears a dark green and purple checked bow to every Wimbledon outing.

Besides her interest in the sport, Middleton is also a patron of the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club since 2016, when the late Queen Elizabeth bestowed upon her the responsibility. Since then, she has been a regular at the sporting event, which is held every year in London. According to Hello! Magazine, the Princess's pinned bow is a gesture to honor the club, which has been the venue for the international tennis championship every year since 1909. Middleton was first spotted donning the pin while attending a match in 2017. She wore the bow with a white floral dress, designed by her favorite designer, Catherine Walker. Looking like a fresh breath of air, she was accompanied by her husband, Prince William, who also shares an interest in the sport.

As mentioned above, this was not the first time the Princess of Wales honored someone with a piece of jewelry. The 43-year-old is often spotted wearing elegant pieces from the late Queen Elizabeth's wardrobe. According to the Observer, Middleton's choice of necklace for the late Queen’s funeral was to honor her. She was spotted wearing a four-row pearl necklace with a center buckle studded with diamonds. The necklace was a gift to the Queen by the Japanese government in the 1970s. Middleton was seen donning the same also during Prince Philip’s funeral and at his and Elizabeth’s 70th wedding anniversary. Additionally, she has also inherited some of her late mother-in-law Princess Diana’s jewelry, which she wears from time to time.

Earlier this year, during VE Day celebrations, Middleton similarly wore a golden brooch with Air Force wings to her monochrome ensemble. It paid a heartwarming tribute to her late grandfather, who served as a fighter pilot in WWII. Princess Charlotte also seems to be following in her mother’s footsteps. The little Princess remembered her late great-grandmother during this year’s Trooping the Color by donning her diamond-studded horseshoe brooch. Charlotte also wore the brooch to the late Queen’s funeral as it symbolizes their shared fondness for horses and horseback riding. The subtle tribute by the 10-year-old won hearts. Meanwhile, Middleton wore an Aqua blue dress that mirrored one worn by Diana for Trooping the Color 31 years back.
