Since stepping down from royal duties in 2020 and moving to California, Harry has been determined to regain state-funded security for himself, Markle, and their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet. As reported by Life and Style magazine, an insider believes that his ongoing fight isn't just about safety— it's a sign of how deeply Harry wants to reestablish his relations and reunite with his family. The source explained, “Harry is still trying to work out the security issues so his kids can go to the U.K. safely...He and Meghan really do want to spend some quality time in his homeland.”
The insider further claimed, “She [Markle] and Harry don’t miss the stuffy pomp and splendor of royal life, but they do regret the absence of family and their connection to England. Slowly but surely, they are working towards a royal reunion. The signs are all there.” They continued, "It’s obvious Harry misses his family back home, and it says a lot that Meghan has softened toward them." Although it's still uncertain whether the entire royal family is open to reconciliation, the insider claims there’s one royal quietly rooting for Harry and Markle’s return. As reported by The Mirror, the source spilled, "Kate is up for a reunion, but William is the holdout. He has trust issues with Harry, and he still questions his motives. Camilla also isn't convinced."
The Waleses and the Sussexes' last public appearance came during Queen Elizabeth II’s memorial in September 2022.
