Harry and Meghan Warned Photo of Archie and Lilibet With Grandpa Charles Could Trigger Royal 'Mayhem'

Experts believe a photo of King Charles with Harry, Meghan, and their kids could create trouble for both the Firm and the Sussexes.

As Prince Harry prepares for his grand homecoming to the UK, there have been reports floating around that he will not be making the trip alone. Meghan Markle will apparently join him alongside their two children, Archie and Lilibet. With the possibility of a reunion with King Charles, experts think a family picture with the Sussexes might cause ‘mayhem.’

If the reports are true, Archie and Lilibet will be heading to England for the first time in four years. The trip is expected to include a long-awaited reunion with Charles, though many are already wondering if the family will pose for a picture together. Reporter Natalie Oliveri said in the latest episode of Royal Briefing, “There are fears, or suspicions, the Duchess of Sussex may use a reunion between the children and the king as a publicity stunt because Meghan would love nothing more.”

“A photo of the king with Archie and Lilibet, either with or without Harry and her, would be beamed around the world instantly,” Oliveri added. She went on to claim that Harry and Meghan's life in the US has not unfolded the way they had hoped, and they still rely on their royal ties to stay in the spotlight. She suggested that a photo of the Sussexes with Charles would only strengthen that connection, adding that if such a picture is ever taken, it should remain private rather than be shared publicly.

However, Nicole Douglas said she believes any family photo should stay private for a different reason. According to her, if Markle were to publicly share a picture of the children with Charles, the backlash would be relentless, with every tiny detail, from the children's outfits to Markle's expression, likely to be heavily scrutinized. She continued, “[Meghan] knows she’s just going to stick to the jam-making, to keep her profile [in] that calm, [semi] private life she likes to live. If she bangs in a photo of the King, it will be mayhem.”

Harry is expected to return to the UK next month for a special Invictus Games event, but that is not the only reason royal watchers are paying attention. With Archie and Lilibet reportedly joining the trip, many believe Harry could take the opportunity to introduce his children to an important part of their family history by visiting Princess Diana's final resting place. Interestingly, the Spencer family's Althorp estate is set to be closed on July 10 and 11, according to its official website.
